Will the External render software work with BLENDER version 2.78 (STEAM version) or is it better to use cycles?

Hi Andrew I am reviewing you tutorial of Lux Render I know it has pass 2 years after you created this tutorial but could you update it how to use Lux Render with the newest version of Lux Render and how is it that can be exporter I don't see the exporter anywhere in Blender like you show in your tutorial I don't quite understand I would like to try it myself Lux Render.
