not quite
where did you get the sound?
I don't get it…..is not really realistic…..the camera should shake and i should see some debry fly at the speed of light towards the camera to make it more credible
My ears…
Quite nice, Andy. Well done.
cool but missing ground effects.
this is what happens when I try it

I made an explosion based off your tutorial, but when I appened the domain and flow object and play the animation the smoke doesn't appear. The paticles show up from the origin of the grid , but not at the emitter/flow object. Also, the smoke cache area is shaded in and can not be interacted with. And, (a bit off topic) is it possible to bake something and then choose when the bake "plays"?
I agree with you – the fireball disappears in 1-2 seconds after the explosion, but it might be a bit tricky to judge that. Like that advertisement on the buses in London that had a bullet flying with a shell! =D
It's a really good simulation otherwise, I think
try flipping your blend texture for your particles. Usually explosions start of bright and then fade into smoke
@nazurea I don't even have Blender 3D. I was just saying that the fireball shouldn't be there that long. I have seen many explosions similar to this. He can make it to where the fireball is shorter.
IPWNFORCHEESE
@IPWNFORCHEESE Let me see you do it better, Andrew Price is a professional 3d artist. And i bet you haven`t seen a real explosion on this "scale".
But yeah, this isn`t a perfect simulation, but it as good as it gets in blender.
Nazurea
The fireball shouldn't be there for that long, maybe a second and a half after the explosion it should be smoke.
@Brajl It is too realistic. Can you tell me how it is not? Just curious.
@Ethio50 Light travels faster than sound. That's why you see the explosion before you hear the boom.
@Flubadoodoo Or in easier terms, light travels faster than sound.
@IPVentertainment It's not a nuke silly.
@Zyilexx but its made in blener and wehen you make a bigger "mushroom" (soory for my ba english) than the viedeo isn' t as good as it weht its only a smmal explosion
Hey guy's i was super shit at blender but after a mouth of watching Andrew Price on Blender Guru im getting alright at it, to see some of my work please check out my channel, Thank you so much Andrew for keeping my blender interest going 🙂 i check out Blender Guru EVERYDAY just so i can keep practicing . Your tutorials are 100% spectacular.
that was my brain-after watching this video. Paradox? I dont think so…
@Filmaker92 it doesn't say nuke anywhere on this video
The sound effect's are amazing!
Thats hot
@3DPlanets lol!
Thats an really good animation but a little bit smaller than a nuke.bomb
You need more turbulence in the fire. Right now it looks like someone threw flour onto a small campfire.
The video is quite good, but the explosionlooks like an scale model. The smoke puffs are reaaaally big, they should be smaller. Very good video though.
Love the way the sound is done, the delay makes it indeed extra realistic, and darn… It's loud! (You should've warned me, now my neighbors are awake… :P)
ive followed this tutorial and the result has just blown me away
ps. thank you for your tutorials and your clear english (im from germany) 🙂
This is a sweet vid. I just started using Blender and am a little overwhelmed but learning a LOT from tutorials on youtube and blenderguru thanks for this soon i'll have mine.
*cricket sounds*
*explosion*
… Oh, no souBLAAGEHAGAHAHRAHRHARHAHRJGHEGAH
Well, at least it's realistic; light comes before sound.
250 km away:… "Honey, did you hear something?"
