and now for something completely different
Thank you!
Shroud of Turon is actually the oldest photograph
Consider how photos fade, decay and just get otherwise damaged. Each of these photos are unlikely survivors. Now, like everything in the world now, they are immortalized on the internet. There is a possibility they will still be around digitally until the end of humanity as a species.
These photos are literally breathtaking
2:00 it's Mike Zwick from Farcial Hoodwink!
It’s amazing that there was color photography in the 19th century! I had no idea.
This is really cool! Thank you for posting!
Hannah Gorby was quite the old battleaxe.
I was waiting for a big foot to come down and squash the picture.
Can you imagine how thrilling it must have felt!! I know how I felt the first time I used a Polaroid camera at age 4.
Also, I keep making the "foot" noise at the end of that part
John Johnson is the most amazing name ever
Its amazing to think of time and how each generation touches another. When I was 4 in 1972, I had a neighbor man who was born in 1868. He was in good shape , walked everywhere, and wore overalls, a straw hat, and chewed tobacco and taught me how to call turkeys.
Ooo
Why tf is this in my recommended
Now We are comparing iphone xs vs note 9 camera's.
How did people live with no colour 🤔🤔
5:56 James Clerk Maxwell was not just a photographer … he was possibly the greatest scientist to come out of the 19th century. Nearly on the same level as Newton and Einstein.
So cool thanks for this!
1:54 is Robert Cornelius, not John Johnson.
For the underwater one, what did you mean by its lost?
The F1RST EVER colour photograph was taken in 1877?! Holy shit! WHY were there so many black and white photos after that year?! Unless it was done using a photo editing app of course!
Interesting. TFS
I wish I could go back on time to 1200 or1000 .Who knows…..year 1.

that moment when the first picture they have ever made was a leaf
It always amazes me the people who you think lived in a totally different era that overlapped with your own life. Not only have I lived at the same time as those who fought in the Great War, but I recall the death of the last surviving soldier from The American Civil War! I recall he was a boy bugler. But such people as Winston Churchill who, apart from being a great war leader took part in the (possibly) last cavalry charge of the British Army. Mind blowing!
Somewhere I actually have a family photograph on glass taken in the 1840s
0:38 giant foot crushes the letters
These images are full of ghosts in them……
Lol all these serious vide have so many wooshes
That picture on 5:54 is now that
Selfies released on 17th century? WHAT? WORLDS FIRST SELFIE ON 19TH CENTURY
Knowing that I just saw a picture on YouTube in 2018 in a video showing a woman in a picture that was from the 1800s but she was born in the mid 1700s and wasn’t that far away from being alive in the 1600s really screwed up my head for the night and now I may not be able to sleep.
Are you making this stuff up? That famous ‘first selfie’ is of and by Robert Cornelius. The year 1840 is written on the photo you say was taken in 1840. I stopped watching.
Its…..
Photography connects us to the past and makes it seem much more real. The perspectives of historians of the future on our own time will be greatly altered by their ability to see this current world in full HD, not to mention the ridiculous amount of photos
These pictures are hilariously bad!.. I can't stop laughing out loud by how bad they really are. You should see the pictures my Apple Iphone XS MAX takes! There is no comparison whatsoever. My XS MAX has liquid iris technology backed with a whopping 12 megapixel smart HDR photo brain. The results are just gorgeous beyond words!! I still can't help from laughing out loud so much from watching this video though. Thanks for the upload!
John Johnson looks like a relative of mine.
