Thanks. I'm taking notes here! A bunch of subtle things I didn't know until now.
jesus how could I have missed so much in all my years of blender
hey man. I picked up hard ops last night. I've been using blender for years and sci fi characters/armor is one of my favorite things to make. This video alone has shown me just how much extra work i've been making foryself. Thanks man looking forward to getting to grips with the tools.
Excellent video! I wish I had found this sooner. I've probably picked up about 70% of these tips here and there, but this last 30% really tied everything together. Very helpful, thanks!
best ever
+1 sub
Damn just spent 2 Hours with the first 10 minutes and learned more than the last 2 Weeks o_O
WOW this is amazing
the best tutorial for blender… ever… man do more, blender community is going to build a monument for you, believe me…
17:33 I lol'd
You make my day and my years!!! A big thanks to you it was awsome
This is an awesome video man, thanks a whole bunch. There were some great tips in there I didn't know about. Also, @ https://youtu.be/S6uFpBe1oTU?t=17m32s, I jumped out of my chair, as I was working in another window and had the volume WAAAY up π
I'll likely be grabbing Hard Ops as well… I've watched several of your demos, I'm blown away to say the least.I gotta ask though- out of HardOps and BoxCutter, if I could only get one, which should I get? I'm assuming they are a match made in heaven…
Thanks again for your awesome work and sharing some badass knowledge and technique bombs.
Thank you so much! I have been looking for a toolkit to improve my workflow for hard surfaces for almost a year. I just downloaded HardOps 8 and Box Cutter, and they are completely life changing! Every single artist should have these tools for Blender. Anyone who is remotely above %0 serious about their design work using Blender 3D NEEDS these tools, and to watch this video. Mastertron1001, you're a genius mate! I can not thank you enough.
@20:21 what the heck is Tilda or whatever u said? where is that key located on the keyboard?
muy bien
This is exactly what I needed
17:34 "cough cough cough* …. "Sorry about that Almost died…." what the hell made me laugh. Nice video by the way recommended it to all the people asking questions on blender stack exchange.
hm allot of the hotkeys do not work for me (Shift-D, Ctrl+B, X etc.). Is it because of you set them manually ?
Ahah ! My goodness ! it's like a 20th level AD&D wizard teaching his tricks ! Christmas gift before it's time ! Thank you so much ! All blender users should watch this video π Now I understand better the choice of the nickname π
I thought I was modelling at a decent speed,
I thought I knew a lot of shortcuts….
turns out I was wrong.
This tutorial is all someone who really wants to get
into modelling in Blender could ask for.
Even if you're more used to most of Blender's shortcuts this video is hugely helpful.
Another addon I find very useful is 3D viewport navigation. You can use the 9 key on the numpad to switch to the opposite viewing angle, and pressing the period key on the numpad will focus the camera on the selected mesh/object. It removes a lot of the annoying viewing angles when modeling on something highly detailed with a few simple hotkeys.
Excuse me.Where is the IceTools?Could you tell me Download links, please?
I learn't more from this video than I have from watching 500 others……
magnifique thank you
Been using Blender for 123 years and still learnt a couple of things. Like 8 at least π Lol, 'almost died' ha ha!
Awesome man, i was pretty confident with my shortcut-knowledge, but you showed me some cool stuff!
Ctrl+X.. I like..
This is the best sales pitch for Blender I've ever seen. I'm only half way through and I've had so many 'holy crap' moments. There are tips in here that simply have no equivalent in other programs. Keep up these videos, I ran into you via the Hard Ops add on mentioned in a forum… and down the rabbit hole I went. Thank you!
Your videos are always an inspiration and I learn a lot while watching it!! Just bought hardops and have to admit that this is the ultimate timesaver!! Thanks and keep it up!
Thanks for the video, I have been using Blender off and on since 2000 and I knew about 80% of the functions you presented. a good concise review plus learned a few things.
also I purchased the Hard Ops addon and plan to sign up to your Patreon page.
very useful video, I would love to see more videos in this style
as a total "noob" to blender this video just helped me with 3 projects I was working on when I was struggling with blenderguru and blender for noobs. honestly you deserve to be more popular man.you really have usefull info that needs to be known
This video was really helpful. Thanks!
I've been using Blender for about a year now and thought I'd just check out a basics video to see if there is anything useful I missed. To my surprise, there is a great deal of useful info here, even for people like me who have been using Blender for quite a while. There are many ways to do the same thing in all 3d programs, and once you've learned one that you feel comfortable with, it's common to stop searching for other, potentially better methods that could be also be employed in special situations. Because of that, I think it's good to check out beginner or basic videos from time to time in order to fill any gaps in your knowledge.
Do Ngons on high poly bake when I make a normal map for a retopoed model or will I need to subdivide them first?
Nice as always Jerry!
hey mate i am sure you will be interested in this perhaps you guys should be talking to each other

Great video, man. There's a lot of important stuff packed in small amount of time but still not too fast. Great for multiple viewings.
Dude, best robot I've seen from your tutorials! I honestly think its flawless!
You say the new hard ops version will be amazing? Any specifics π ?
This video is Bible of blender modelling!
I learn more in 5 minuets from you than like 6 months of following other tutorials and self experimenting lol
@22:20 Select two points and press J. And bam! Direct knife. That I did not know. Thank you.
Thanks for making the video, I actually learned a few more things here! π
