  4. Not sure why so many people are so focused on blurry background, I don't like it at all. I much prefer to watch videos with everything in focus so I can look at the fun things that happen in the real world, especially when in groups of people, or the cat coming into the room and being funny. Much more entertaining than someone's boring face. Can't help but wonder if it's an ego thing, people are like, "Look at me, look at me, LOOK AT MEEEEE!!!!!"

  24. You keep using the wrong term. Depth of field does NOT ≠ Blurry background . Depth of field is distance between the nearest and farthest objects that are in focus in a frame. When you have more depth of field you have more of the frame from near to far in focus, less blur
    You get a Blurry Background by reducing the depth of field.
    I enjoy your informational videos regarding YouTube. It is just frustrating to hear you continue to use this important terminology incorrectly in instructional videos. You made the same error in your camcorder video. Consumer Camcorders have great autofocus because they are designed to have lots of depth of field at all times. That way their focusing mechanisms do not need to be real precise in order to get good results. What consumer Camcorders are not capable doing well is reducing their depth of field in order to get good separation from the primary subject and the background which creates the blurry background, bokeh.
    The narrower the depth of field the more blur there will be in the background. This video is about reducing depth of field, shrinking the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in the frame that are in focus, in order so create bokeh. This video is not about getting more or better depth of field. That would be making everything in the frame, near to far, in focus.
