In this video we’ll cover how to combine external Javascript and CSS using W3 Total Cache Minify settings.
Have you used GTmetrix to test out your site speed? Is your YSlow score giving you fits because you need to make fewer HTTP Requests?
The reason you are getting the message to make fewer HTTP requests, is because you have multiple JavaScript and CSS files. If you can figure out how to combine external JavaScript or CSS files, the end result will be fewer HTTP requests and a quicker loading site.
We’ll fix that in today’s video, by showing you how to leverage W3 Total Cache and its minify settings. Minify is nothing more then a fancy word to shrink the size of the file. However W3 Total Cache Minify settings will also let you combine your external JavaScript and CSS files.

Hi dear a wonderful video you have solved my problems. bu still i am facing the Eliminate Render Blocking THE MESSAGE IS (Resources are blocking the first paint of your page. Consider delivering critical JS/CSS inline and deferring all non-critical JS/styles.

Thanks! I tried this for my site (albeit super cautiously) and it worked. I'm also using W3 Total Cache and added some changes to my .htaccess file (gzip and leverage browser caching code) which has reduced my site speed by a lot. Still trying to get to 1 second at least.
Hey man. I have 208 requests. I saw that many of my js's are the same. When i press "help" i see a total of 309 javascrips and 253 css files. Any heads up?
Excellent tutorial, it takes a bit of messing around checking the website with every change. It goes without saying that javascript should carry a warning "Here be Dragons"
