Tutorial Level: Beginner
This tutorial covers:
*Solid Wire-frame Material setup
*Lighting/Backdrop
Quick Bookmarks:
Materials: 0:38 __ Backdrop: 2:24 __ Lighting and AO: 3:31
Note: This is very simple lighting, which you can change for even better results.
—*Change the secular intensity on the Solid material as you see fit, but i should be quite low.
—*Change the Alpha value as well in the Wire material. Value of 1 gives thick lines and lower values give thinner lines.
—*A value of .04 for z-offset may or may not work perfectly depending on the size and density of your model, so change that as you see fit, but it should be quite low.

thanks, your tutorial very very help me well, ๐
Thanks for this video ๐ It was a great help.
Great tutorial. Works just fine. Thanks a lot !
Yes it is working in 2.65, make sure you go into edit-mode (default is "TAB-Key") The assign, select and deselect buttons show up then. Once there make sure to select all the vertices before you hit the assign button. Hope that helps, let me know if it doesn't.
is this working in 2.65? because, I can't make it work… I followed all the steps, except "assign" stuff, because there is no such thing in 2.65, whatever I do, assign button does not show up, hmh…
Absolutely! I'll send you a link through a PM here.
Glad it worked, any chance I can see the result?
That did it! Thank you so much!
I am guessing you are trying to render the tube as a wire-frame? If so convert from Bezier Curves to a mesh object (Alt – C), then apply my settings. Hope that helps!
Great tutorial, thanks, but for some reason, this isn't working for me. I'm trying to render an animation inside a tube created with Bezier Curves and the camera is inside the tube. Any tips?
Yeah that switch up got me too at first, that is mainly why i made this tut since without the swap it doesn't work.
Yeah, this should actually render faster since you only have one mesh, but definitely easier to manage, since you don't have to worry about duplicate objects floating around in your scene.
…and here I was, still using the mesh-duplication method from BlenderCookie. Thanks for vid, DDD! I'll definitely be using this method in the future ๐
Two Thumbs up for Susan !!
F12 is the default
What key did you press to render it?
Great tutorial, thanks for sharing!
