In this beginner’s Blender tutorial series I’ll take you through the step by step creation of a soft pretzel. In this first video we’ll be modeling everything in the scene including the pretzel, the plate, and the salt.
Save the pretzel reference image below to get started –

Watch our Blender primer series below if you’re brand new to Blender –

Tutorial Summary:
In the first part of this series you’ll learn about working with both curve objects and mesh objects to achieve different modeling tasks. We’ll also be using things called modifiers which help us construct complex details in our models. We’ll be using modifiers such as subdivision surface for getting extra smooth surfaces, beveling to achieve rounded corners, and solidify to give objects thickness.
We’ll also be using particle systems to randomly distribute salt on the pretzel’s surface, as well as on the plate and the table.
In the next part of this series we’ll be texturing everything and then rendering it, so stay tuned for that!

hervorragendes tutorial.
Thanks 🙂
I'm slowly working through this tut which great btw! I do have an odd issue. When I the "F" to cap the ends I just get a connecting line. Pressing F again doesn't auto fill either. This is my 2nd time doing this part and it worked without issue the first time through though? Thx
You can draw a curve that sticks to the surface of the mesh without worrying about handles.
great tutorial! I just have a question. at 1:01:36 why did you duplicate it by shift D? why not just separate the object without duplicating it?
You are a great tutor, I hope you do more videos of simple assets, etc. It would be great to have a channel like Arrimus 3D modeling hard surface assets but with Blender. Thanks!
Let's stop hating on Blender Guru he's been a little quiet but u know he's gonna come back soon. This channel is awesome too tho.
When is the 2nd part coming out?
When is part 2 coming out?
Excellent tut dude. Lots of good info.
Eagerly waiting for the next part.
Great tutorial. Learnt a ton of things.
Ummmm😲😋
Any news from upcoming car tutorial…….???
Great thorough tutorial but you treated the mustard like a solid that wouldn't just mix when it cross's itself
Ok, but how do I reset the 3D cursor?
hey you this first part is nice I Appreciate Your Work
Thanks Man….waiting for Next video
I've just downloaded blender and I want to begin 3d but it seems that my base settings are a bit different than yours, like my base cube resolution seems to be lower than yours… help pls?
Is this going to replace the gurus donut???
Maybe you could expand this to a "Oktoberfest" serie? A tutorial about modeling and texturing a german beer mug could be very instresting, especially the shading of the beer foam.
I personally think that a tutorial about brezel (that is how it is really written) should be done in german, or maybe france. But great turoial anyway. And wich crazy person put mustard on a brezel? Disgusting.
Brit here…cannot comprehend mustard on a pretzel… Why would you do that??? Good Blender tutorial though, made some vague areas clearer.
Love what you are doing guys, keep up the good work!
Good detailed tutorial. Sometimes going back to the basics, especially for an old brain like mine is important.

Great tutorial! I'm already pretty good with blender but I love your videos so I still watch!
When the donuts just doesn't do it for you anymore… you end up here.
