In this exciting tutorial we are going to prove that realism is, indeed, possible inside of the FREE Blender 2.53 Beta release. There is an AWFUL lot to go over in this video.
Modeling an American Football
Adding realistic lighting
Creating High Resolution, HD textures in photoshop/gimp
Using Normal Maps
and, of course, Rendering.

Awesome Video. Used some of the concepts here. Thanks.
Starting to learn 3D and Blender at the same time, so I'm a total noob, however I've been able to follow your tutorial for the most part. I also downloaded your Blender file and finished cutting the holes and then followed your tutorial to see how things were done. However, the render comes out looking like a plain plastic football with color and bumps, but no texture. The football texture doesn't show. What could it be?
Great tutorial! Thx

your videos are too long dont
u know that videos are suposed to be short! duh!
Great! Thank you for this.
when you C select all the UV area how do you grab and move it over?
You could also use an array modifier for the laces around the seems so that way all you have to do is animate one of them.
dud where is the texture!
