Sony’s a7 III was one of the most respected hybrid cameras of recent years, and the a7 IV builds on the camera’s well-rounded capabilities with a range of new features and improvements that make it an intriguing option for a lot of creatives. This excellent video review takes a look at the video capabilities of the new camera and how they perform in practice.
Coming to you from Maarten Heilbron, this awesome video review takes a look at the Sony a7 IV mirrorless camera and the sort of video performance you can expect from it, along with its continuous burst performance. The a7 IV comes with a range of useful video features, including:
- No limit on recording time
- Better heat dissipation for extended recording
- 4K 30p in 10-bit using the full width of the sensor
- 4K 60p in 10-bit and Super 35
- Bit rate up to 600 Mb/s
- XAVC GS and XAVC S-I codecs
- S-Log3 with over 15 stops of dynamic range
- Hybrid Log-Gamma
- S-Cinetone for more natural skin tones
The lack of 4K 60p in full frame has caused some criticism of the a7 IV, but beyond that, it looks like a capable option. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Heilbron.
