This video was a bit long, but it goes through the entire process of essentially “porting” a game model to be used as an animation asset in Blender. There’s a lot that I didn’t cover but blew through, so I’ll be making some more simple tutorials in the future to solidify basic concepts. Thank you for watching!

The bar at the top was supposed to be clickable, but I forgot that YouTube had removed annotations.

There is a much easier way to get the textures to work, you don't even have to mess with the nodes

How do you make it so you can see the bones and move the body parts?

You should make a discord server for people who like to use blender for VG models like me and many other people I have met on discord.

VirtualTurtle I have a question for you, in 3DMax we have Bones, Bidep and CAT to animate, also drivers, scripts and some other tools to make it easier.

What is the potential of Blender versus 3DMax in animation? I mean, what tools does Blender have for animation that may be similar to 3DMax or even better.
Also the lack of information about animation in Blender is a problem.
I want to jump to Blender, but I'm a little afraid that maybe I'm not close to 3DMax in animation,
    What do you think?

Do you mind if I make a 5 minutes long tutorial on how to import and add textures to Pokemon models from that website? I will talk about your video too for those who want to go deeper and animate the models. I`ve been wanting to do a Pokemon tutorial for a while with proper models and I don`t want to make you feel I copy your content, I would much rather give you some followers.

I may have not watched the whole thing yet but this is beautiful and I have massive respect for you doing these for the fake smash leak. Can't wait to learn this stuff more so I can make thumbnails using my renders!

Amazing tutorial! I was always wondering what the best way is to quadrangulate a game mesh, without loosing UVs. Also that you didn't move his tail for the cool pose triggered me, luckyly the final render at the end was diffrent xD
