Back when I saw the movie I also thought there should have been a little more Godzilla. Come to think of it, the effects team did such a great job that the amount put in was just right. Great job!

Sucked not enough godzilla but the fx team with modeling animation muscle rigging was great. Not too sure
of the bug creatures they were a little to starship troopers for me.
totally agree with the slow "jurrasic park" build up. I actually think the amount of godzilla in frame was perfect. If he´d be there all the time it would have been to much. But then again, its also a VFX budget question eh (:
