The annotate tool in Blender 2.8 allows you to draw anywhere in 3D space or directly onto the “screen” of the 3D view. BlenderDiplom explains all it’s features in this Blender 2.8 tutorial.

Rant not pointer you, just the worthless Annotation tool. It fucking sucks, that's what I think of it. I was doing more in 1981 on a Lisa. Where's the typing tool? Where'res the arrows? Where's the ballons tool, Datum call out? No, you say it's snot that kind of tool. Then Stop calling it a Fucking Annotation Tool. Call it a scribbling crayon, that looks like crap. I've seen better diagrams made by a drunk on a Shownes placemat. LOVE BLENDER.
quite the same way but simplified. good tuto and I just watched a last point you can create several data blocks or erase one (so purge data blocks too to clean up). and I have to see how it's working with gstrech and bsurface later
I am going to play with this for sure, is there a way to control these lines like a pen tool in other graphic programs, and also could you go deeper into this tool? Maybe how to animate something or can these lines be made into meshes and or extruded and more, looks like this could be a powerful tool.
This is an awesome Blender tutorial right here I love it.😃👍
