  1. thanks for this course (: but im really confused how you get the neck part separated , im using maya 2017 and (edit mesh /detach /)
then (mesh /separate )is not giving me your result

  2. Great tutorial! I am having a couple of issues with the 'duplicate face' though. When I press that it taken the smoothness away from my character and makes it go really blocky, so how it would go if you pressed '1' and I cant get it back to going smooth. If you can help me on this it would be really appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚ย

  3. Make sure to set the x axis scale to -1( this is done in duplicate special options box.). Or any of the other axis in case you are working with a different axis then I am in the video. You can ask as many questions as you like ( as long as they are related to the video or a problem/question about the software). Questions don't irritate me at all, but just allow time for me to give you an answer. Good Luck.

  4. Took the project up after a break of animating as it's just a hobby and if you got time for this please answer it, if not don't cause I've allready posted about 1 comment on each part so it must be irritating for you.
But when I duplicate special it gets duplicated on the same spot and not on the other side.

  5. I think I did this at the end of the previous video. Basically, select the edge loop around the neck and go to edit mesh – detach component. After that you can use separate.

  6. Did you smooth more than once? if that was the last thing you did just press ctrl + z to undo. Otherwise you have to look at the channel box area and look for polySmoothFace and under divisions type 0 to go back before the smooth. If you did a lot more things to the model after the smooth you can try the channel box solution, but it may or may not work. If it doesn't work you will have to delete edges manually or go back to a previous stage if you saved any.

  7. Irvin in a earlier video u told us to do the smooth thing again to get more edges and faces to work with. The thing is just that I got thousands of those after I did it. How do I undo it again?. Thanks.

  8. Perfect! Maybe you explained it in the previous video but since you took many minutes in order to delete edges and make the body simpler, it is possible that I skipped that step.. anyway you are awesome as always! Thank's one more time for this guide and your help ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. You don't necessarily have to delete faces to separate. You can select a whole edge loop( in the area where you want it to split) and then go to edit mesh – detach component. After that you can go to separate and it should give you 2 pieces now. I'm sure I showed this in the previous video, but if for some reason I didn't I hope people see this comment to fix that.

  10. I need a little help please. I don't manage to understand how to "separate" the mesh at 00:46 . I tried everything. I select the original great body (I keep unselected the future skin) and then press Separate but it doesn't work.. It gives me the following error: polysurface has only one piece. And Maya is right xD I followed some tutorials and in order to separate a mesh I should to delete some faces in order to create 2 bodies.. then I can "separate" them.. How can you do that?:S Thank you!
