    You probably know this but utilizing the hotkeys, for example G for "repeat last action" and Y for "repeat last tool", would speed up the workflow tremendously. Also holding J for snap rotate/scale is much faster than typing in the channel box.
    Also the Shift+RMB, Ctrl+RMB and Ctrl+Shift+RMB marking menus makes finding your tools sooo much faster and less repetitive.

    Hello c:
    I hope this isn't a silly question, but could you maybe explain me the difference between the smoothing and subdividing options in Maya? I always thought, if you want to give your low poly smoothing groups, you have to go to mesh->smooth, but now I heard, that you have to use the "Soft/Hard Edges" Options for creating "smoothing groups" and then there are other people, who somehow turn their smooth preview to their mesh..but I think, this is creating way too many polygons! It's also said, that a model, which was subdivided, doesn't need smooth anymore and that the "smooth" option is actually responsible for Subdividing.. And now I am pretty confused about all this and thought you might help me. ;w;
    So, what is the right thing to do, when you're creating models/props, for example, for an environment or just a character?
