I could never render smoke before because my laptop couldn't handle it , not even stills . But because of reducing the the step size I was able to make an animation! ! !

Very awesome vid, will admit that I use a different method for visualising the smoke and flames but this is still really cool.
Hi. I have been playing with fire and a few tutorials for a couple of days now and my main issue is that when I go from Flow to Domain (or the other way around), in Smoke, I loose all the settings. Even though I have saved just before moving to the other setting. Any idea why this is happening?
Have you tried creating Fire/Smoke in 2.78? It does not seem to work as all the settings seem to revert back to defaults…..
nice really heklpful lexcept that quick smoke does nothing for me, it is just a stale box that does nothing if I hat play or render or anything.

When doing this i wanted my explosion to start at frame 290 but it wouldn't. It consistently started at 200. my start frame is 1 and end is 1000. What do i do?
love your work. starting to get the hang of blender via u-tube tutorials. it is a pain putting together the materials for the fire and the smoke. at least until i understand the concept.I mean i get cooler ramps now.. transparency part threw me for a while. i wish there was an easier way. thanks again
@srf123 Hi, in my case I have some more stuff in logic editor for smoke domain material like "multiply", "volume absorption" etc. and when I delete and I leave only "material output" the animation of the smoke disappear :(. Can you tell me what I should to do?

this is a GREAT video. You dont waste my time with long useless explanations. You dont how three ways how not to do it before you finaly do it right. Why cant every youtuber be line Sardi Pax? Your explanations were calm but not boring, in terms of voice acting.

thank you very much, fantastic tut, i especially appreciated the color ramp in the smoke shader, that helps a lot in making the smoke much more defined. Any other ideas you have on speeding up render time, even at the cost of big tricks, are highly appreciated.
how do you cut?
Its too damn slow… and i know even intel skylake wont be anywhere near fast enough for it… guess we have to wait 5 or 10 years.
its all changed in the 2.75, apparently i get smoke straight the way, with a complex node setup made for me.
