In this tutorial I demonstrate how to create particles which glint or flash brightly in reflected light. In addition, I show briefly how the basic steps to render and compile the resulting animation into a video.
The results of this animation can be viewed here http://youtu.be/TksCMVV0Its along with a link to download the video files.

Amazing tutorial, Sardi. You cover much more than just particles.
I always feel like I'm actually studying when I watch your tutorials.
Request for tutorial (any One of these)…!

I hope that you take suggestions for tutorials here. I suggest a tutorial of how to render an image of the earth as seen from low orbit as is seen in this photograph http://d1jqu7g1y74ds1.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/SED_wall_1920x1200.jpg
I have tried to make an image like this but have failed.
Sardi, that Dales Forbes comment below… it's like he was reading my mind. Norm
Good grief! You have a gift for taking a simple particle tutorial and turning it into a treasure chest of information. Love the style of your teaching as well as your creative ideas and all the helpful tidbits you include. Many thanks!
