This tutorial shows how to use cache BVH to speed up render time.
It also slightly touches on Ambient Occlusion in cycles.
I found this information quite useful.
Remember the Image Lucidity Graphics Medicine bottle is very simple geometery. BVH’s store this. If no object physically moves it is not required but by default this is on. By storing BVH info I cut down a 100 frame animation from about 15 minutes to 14 minutes….with more complicated geometery (higher poly count or more objects) this would save ALOT of time.
