Blender tutorial showing you how to use the cloth simulator to make an animated flag. I’ll post the link to the cloth sim comparisons tomorrow. My internet is so slow that the only way to remain sane is to upload while I sleep. So yeah, if you’re reading this I’m asleep.

Kryiekee, maaate
i need free pro lightning sky
do anyone know where I can get it??
How do you show what keys you're pressing (As in what addon do you use to do that)?
I may or may not have sung along with the national anthem at the beginning…
i spent half the tutorial staring at his green screen messing up lol. good tut andrew
Cool way to create fabric! That's what makes this tute different from others.
Since you mention that we can post ideas: Any chance to improve on this tute (or make a "part 2"?) that shows how to add a **looping** flag animation? From what I see this is a popular question with no answer so far…
I put the wind up to 100 billion and get no effect.
Hello, I have a fairly abstract error.
I can see my flag colored and nice if I am in Blender render, however if I switch to Cycles Render (to access my hdri photo) the flag only renders as a solid white object, not the colored flag I used from the beginning.
Also adding many question marks to gain someone attention quicker ????????????????????????
Anyone with blend file for this?
I don't mind you advertising. I'll be paying for everything once I get a job.
THANKS A LOT FOR THIS TUTORIAL IT REALLY HELPED
When I hit alt+A nothing happens, what am i doing wrong?
Wow! Nice have about 40 hours in Blender and clicked on this to figure out how to pin my flag to a pole (flat plane I plopped in the world). Funny that this was just posted yesterday.
My flag won't show up when I select the texture-view
please bro send me pro-lighting skies in a zip file
We're Aussie, we already have a punchy word… & it starts with C hahaha ๐
(great videos! I'm learning heaps from you, thank you)
i can't keep up with you even after seeing the blender beginner tutorials
how to rotate the image
Around 34:00 he mentions that in the node editor has a box titled "Image Texture", for some reason my node is titled "Material and it links color (yellow wire) to the "Output". I've tried shift+A to add a different type of node and "Image Texture" doesn't appear, what am I doing wrong?
also you guys might have rather lazy lyrics but look at how lazy the british flag is! someone clearly just cropped the Australian flag
yeah anthem wise even if it's not official I preferred Waltzing Matilda if not for the upbeat instrumental, in fact if you blokes aren't using it anymore can Britain have it? God Save the Queen is kind of slow :/
Hi, what Pomodoro app do you use at 16:21?
how to save as video or gif?
hi Andrew just wanted to give some feed back, it would be a bit easier to follow the tut if you slowed down both talking and actions in the video, as people who come here come here to learn and are not as talented and intelligent at animating as you. (why would someone watch this vid if they already knew how to do it). also a suggestion is to make a tutorial on how to make a car crash scene. thank-you love your vids!
I really enjoy the tutorials but I can never get them right. There is always something that doesn't work. Even following exactly step by step pausing and making sure I click exactly the same buttons and key combos. Oh well, guess I'm not meant to be a blender guru. ๐
hello Bruce!
This is the wottle,
the symbol of our land.
You can stick it in a bottle,
you can hold it in your hand.
Btw. someone flagged this video ๐
I was stuck on the first step, selecting and deleting…
How do you access the Filmic log encoding???? i dont have that option available from the drop down list. Yes, im using blender 2.78
Warning at about 12min 30secs in you might need to go and make yourself some melted cheese on toast.
I don't have the images as planes option… ?
And I noticed before that I don't have the principal shader either. I downloaded it a week ago, it should have this stuff right?
Edit: I should stop pausing the video immediately when I see a problem because basically every time he explains it right afterwards. Lol I'm dumb.
Nice tutorial but when I rotate my plane my texture turns to black. Anyone know of a fix for this?
german flag with flying hitlers
my patriotic animation
Am I the only one who watch the full ad for you
thanx
should i use pc or laptop …n what should be the ram graphic card cores processor…. should i use pad ????
There are no videos on how to make a tie hang off of a person''s neck. So i thought I could use this video and figure it out.
those settings references are really useful, it's almost a shame you've hidden them away in a beginner's tutorial
Hi one more question, when I render using Cycle Render, I do not see the flag texture instead it still shows solid flag. Why is it. I couldn't figure that yet. I am using JPEG format image for the flag(plane) whereas in the Blender Render it does show the texture, but it's shadows are way darker and not looking good.
Oh I just realized, after the loop-cut-slide option, we need to press "A" to select all edges and then press W or click subdivide. Phewww
From what ive read the settings apply on each face, using the vertex for bending points
so if you cut your geometry in half your settings will be like if they are half.
Two opposable thumbs up Andrew. Another brilliant and useful tutorial. All my friends are going to get their own personal flags for their birthdays.
