There might be a defect in blender 2.77 that locks the environment to the camera. After I switched to 2.78a I could rotate my camera and it revealed different parts of the environment .

Is there a way to create a plane for physics and match with the panorama background somehow?
I once was able to get the EM to show up in the viewport but I've not been ablke to repeat it….. any ideas!
