    There might be a defect in blender 2.77 that locks the environment to the camera. After I switched to 2.78a I could rotate my camera and it revealed different parts of the environment .

    +Matthew Manville Good tutorial :). BTW you can now have Real-time reflections in cycles, with environment maps of course (2.78test-build) – Blender rocks 😀
