In this tutorial, I’m going to explain how to creat a game realistic sword.
Blender Modeling – Realistic Sword (Skyrim) Mesh and Textures.
We use a image background overlay and model our mesh (the sword), then we are going to uv unwrap it and place a texture on it. After that is done, we create the scene and render it.
It was my first tutorial in a whie, I forgot to enable screencast…

I already know how to model. I just want REALISTIC SHEEN THROUGH TEXTURE AND MATERIAL. Half the time I gotta full screen cuz ya'lls menu are hella small coupled with the fact that you show me EVERY process when I just need to know 1 or 2 in tandem with each other.
I am making a sword. It's complex in shape but that doesnt matter. I have every vertex highlighted where the steel would be and even have a material applied. I have multiple light sources and I'm only assuming that maybe….just maybe I need to activate the process chain which is another 5 hours or learning I'm not excited for. (and no, I'm not giving up and going back to maya)
Can somebody just message me and give me a hyperlink? I've wasted 5 hours watching ppl just ramble on with their projects from start to finish. I only need one thing explained.
i know this video is old but how can i export my file with the textures into something like unity, everytime i export the sword i made as an obj or fbx it doesnt have a texture when i import it into unity

Nice work, I just think that handle would hurt to hold onto lol
please use default hot keys for tutorials.
Thank you very much for this awesome Tut!
this video taught me nothing about how to use blender, you didn't explain anything needed for a new user and just confused me more, basically, i got a headache and had to teach myself how to use the program, so thanks a lot… dislike…
Fella…thanks, it's heart warming that there are people, willing to share their knowledge. i wouldn't have figured that out in years
Hi
What do you press for UV mapping? i can´t understand :p
thanks
well the files aren't there anymore……
Thanks alot for your great video, it helped me alot!
my insert key doesnt work
Problem: For some reason my sword is cut in half which means the other side of the x axis is missing
Why did you add the rough textured plane, I can figure everything but that out
Hello. I'm completely new to blender. At 1:18 you say to press 7 to get the view from the top, but when i press 7 it switches the layers. Are there any settings for that? I'm using Windows 8.1 Enterprize. I added the image and it doesn't show behind the block like it does in the video.
Hi ! I have a clue with the smooth subdivision, it doesnt give me the same shape as yours, but more of a square with round corners, how can i fix that ? Is that important for the sword or is it just a preference ?
Mines won't show up in the other window like yours at 13:00 heeeeeeeeelp
howw do you make it flat?
Are you Dutch? Your accent sounds really Dutch. Especially that you say the "W" in sword 😉
+Blender Modeling Thanks for your time, help and assistance. I'm going to try and use these tutorials into making a custom model for a weapon in Skyrim 🙂
how do you move the camera
Ok, isn't it much easier when working with a base image/design for the sword? What if I made my own sword design and need my own textures? I did it, but the textures and/or lighting looks strange and kind of too shiny and transparent in Skyrim, any advice on that?
works with any version of blender?
At minute 5 your sword already has more vertices than 5 of my game characters put together 😛
I can't select the parts at 8:10, it just outlines in yellow rather than filling yellow and i cant drag it correctly.
My image of the sword
isnt appearing???
It don't let me open png image.
It says error…

When i select the upper half of the cube on the XZ axis, it only selects a quarter of it on the XYZ axis. Why is it doing this?
Hey, Thanks for this tutorial.
I have one question though, Is it possible to export the sword with the texture and then import it into any game engine?
Maybe you could use a normal map for extra depth realism?
worst tutorial ever you don't explain anything
Please do a tutorial on a Game of Thrones Sword like Ice or Longclaw
anyone have pictures of a dwarven crossbow at different angles? 😛 even 45 degree pictures would be good enough
I keep moving the 3D cursor! How do I change it so that I can make a square select?
when i open my picture of the sword it does not appear 🙁
How do you scale it down?
At 1:13 i pressed 7 and 5 but my cube just went away and i couldnt see my sword
