I’m slowly making my way through tutorials the various Blender physics simulation systems, and thought I’d branch out a little bit and cover a type of physic simulation not covered in Blender by default. The Molecular Script Add-On by PyroEvil is my favourite plugin for physics simulation in Blender, and it can give you great results. In my opinion, its functionality should be included in Blender by default, but there’s nothing I can do about that :'(
Anyway, over at the /r/simulated subreddit, there are lots of people that want to learn how to use PyroEvil’s Molecular Add-On, but the documentation isn’t that clear and there are very few tutorials on it. So I thought I’d make this for anyone who wanted to grasp the basics of the add-on, and how to use the various simulation modes available.
If you still have any questions about this script, or any sort of simulation question, feel free to post them down below 🙂

Totally out of date for blender 2.79/2.8. Wah wah!
the person got suspended OOF!
The script is not currently available for download Would you like to send me the zip file in my email?
Can you write characteristics of your pc?
For those who are having the collision problem of around 7:50, I found it helpful to just scale the Brownian force for random collision distribution, and time remapping to be faster.(Know that you'll have to extend end frame as you remap)
quick tip: the particles do not self collide if they're too tiny
I keep getting an error saying cmolcore is not defined. I use blender 2.79b
I am the only one with no size setting?
Anyone whose getting the 'cmolcore is not defined' error, just download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015
Any plans on updating this to 2.8?
its been a year and there still is no 64bit version for blender 2.77
Download link is now dead…? Site says the account was suspended.
I downloaded vers 2.77, retried and it works superbly – 3:47am and I'm doing horrible things to Suzanne professor!
Shift-F – Thank you!!!
Love the shirt – clearly a StarFleet engineer …err, and the guy you've never seen before who beams down who'll obviously get killed.
I'm not getting the size option
something went wrond my balls exploded
What are your render settings?
the whole addon interface is different for me
Moby, thank you so much! Great tutorial.
Why can not I see the size option? D:::
The process doesn't go with Blender 2.79, in the Particle function, there is no option of size and Random size. Really disappointed.
wow 999 like
When he makes a duplicate… what exactly does he do there? He does Shift-D and then moves the duplicate and then clicks something that doesn't show up… and the duplicate disappears… but then he's over to the side and adjusting things as if he's adjusting the duplicate… but when I follow along, I shift-d… left click and as far as I can tell it doesn't create a duplicate….?
Official website down? Did molecular discontinued?
EXcellent video. what kind configuration pc do you use kor making blender animation?
The host with script is down.
thank you moahammad
I am having trouble with the self collision I checked the box but I does not seem to work the balls fall but dont collide with each other please tell me if there is a fix.
Amazing tutorial i learned a lot from this.
Hello Moby Motion,
I really like your videos. Very well made, very nice demo scene, high information density (compared to the information input, not a single second got wasted), and structured in a way even I could follow without any problems.
when I do @4:57 (emit from volume AND grid setting) I get a diagonal gap in the grid (visible @7:57)
how can I get rid of those grid defects? have you found a way around it?
Would be very thankful for any help!
Hi, thanks so much for this useful tutorial, but I'm having trouble with Blender 2.79b running on Windows 10. The simulation leads to a crush 100% of the times I run the simulation after adding the pipe.. I noticed that this add-on is updated only to Blender 2.77. How can I fix this? Seems like it's not compatible with the latest release! 🙁
DOOOD THAT WAS AWESOME.
self collision didnot work..but why???
Awesome tutorials!!
mine aren't self colliding
Tried to use metaballs, crash, tutorial for molecular metaballs
Do you know how much of a relief is to hear someone say "zed" and not "cee" when talking about z?
