“Bring out the Gimp!”
“Gimp’s sleeping.”
“Well, I guess you’re gonna have to go wake him up now, won’t you? “
What are you thinking???? Not that GIMP!!!
I mean Theeeee GIMP, the open source (image editing program) alternative to Photoshop.
And I’m here to tell you that it has taken a major leap forward in ease-of-use ( at least installation wise) for us Mac users. Although it is completely free and a great program, installing it has been a major pain in the @%&!!! and has required that X11 be installed (Inkscape, another great program that still requires X11 also). All that has changed with version 2.8! The app is now a self-contained native app that installs by simply “draggin and droppin” from the .dmg.
First, lets dowload GIMP:
Ok…the only thing left to do is mount the DMG and drag the app to you Applications folder. That’s it!!! Installed!!!
Now Bring out the GIMP!!!!
