Don't the riders get angry from having a flash in their face?
thanks
But what is the shutter speed, iso, type of focus to photograph a cycling front finish with a 70-200-2.8.

brilliant tips
Pro Gear, Pro Photographer, Pro PIctures, …….shit video quality
High shutter speed? Right?
dude, if I could afford all of the equipment you use, i would probably be a pro photographer, so I would not need help. just use tips for simple equipment.
is he really hand holding a 300mm? HOW????
oops.. I overlooked the date.. and the d3s is from okt 2009 so so that cant be too.. and the d3x has not these fast contious shooting.. do i now think that are d3 cameras 😉
Last time I checked D4 wasn't out in 2009.
they are used to it and also you will not notice the flash in the middle of a race in the daylight
Same thought immediately came to mind when i saw him.
My God .. give me one lol
Are that three d4/d3s ??? WTF:D
If he didn't use the flash the background would either be overblown or the faces of the cyclist would be too dark to see.
was you using second curtain sync with high speed sync to get the picture at 2:51…
solid
Really helpful video!!
I'm no pro and I have the upmost respect for a photographer of your class, but while viewing your pictures of the cyclists coming up the hill, I think the flash wasn't helping your shots. It looked unnatural and looked strange. Sorry for being kind of negative, sir. I can't do any better so I shouldn't be talking, just wanted to say what I saw.
Looks like you could use a Black Rapid strap!
Really nice video and beautiful photos but as a cyclist I would be kind of pissed on when someone was flashing me from the ground while I´m riding up a hill ^^
I don't like flash.
take a picture of a slow guy in start of video, while he talks to us a good looking group of racers pass by and hes like meh dont give a damn
@pjos111 I guess you can call it "manual" you just want to set your Aperture and flash power…etc but you don't want too much flash in their face because it tends to wipe away the quality if it is too harsh. just use the settings you prefer for that shot.
The best photography video I've seen. Thanks very much!
@RoRcrashslave Thanks for replying. Does this mean then that the flash is in manual? Just set the distance on the flash according to the F stop?
@pjos111 The camera will try to set the lighting on the sky making the bicyclist a silhouette and the flash brightens the bicyclist so that we can see the expression of their face.
lolz, even child can take a picture like that
