What would be the best way to import this building model into Unity with the textures? When saving it into the asset folder and moving the model into the scene it only shows as the grey and blue textures, like what the building looks like when in 3D view in blender. How can I make the model in Unity look like the model rendered in Blender?

Great tutorial but just a question – wouldnt improve workflow and viewport rendertime if you have just created those single block materials and apply textures before you arrayed them into huge building? Yeah, it wouldnt give you complete picture and yet there will be adjustments needed in the end, but it would dramatically speed texturing up especially for those following this tut on slower computer.

I was born too fucking early.. i mean it shouldnt be that hard to make a building in a program! For fuck sake it was 2014 and the program uses the style of a fucking 1995 CNC machine.
How hard could it be to find a fucking building game where you can build you own (lets say a skyscraper) building and have fun?! I want to test physics easy. Not this shit.

Tip for viewport navigation: When in perspective mode, press shift+f to go to first person. Then press left click to exit it.

Don't you think it's in bad taste? Crashing an object into a building. Is it any wonder the world views America as devoid of culture. All you seem to be able to depict is destruction.

Is there any chance for a tutorial on a web site i mean with text and images step by step and not a video ? It's hard to follow each click and what option/s to select. Maybe it's just me. Or maybe there is a way to play the video in slow motion to get follow it better ?

Your page and your tutorials are fantastic!! Thankyou so much! I thought I couldn't make a building break/explode like your video, without video copilot, so I gave up on that goal. But thankyou so much, internally grateful for your work! 😀

Hey Steve, Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was a bit of a tough nut for me but I finally accomplished it.

When I compare my final Image to yours however I feel like the reflection and the lighting in your image is alot more realistic compared to mine, could you give me any advice on what to change? I tried to put a glossy shader on the glass but couldn't balance it well with the transparency so I put it out again.

    This is my Image: http://imgur.com/Vo953aw

Thanks to everyone who can give me some advice

For some very weird reason, my Blender does not behave anything like yours, moving the object away from center, and the restraining to the X axis, spawns it back at the center, rotating is free, not constrained, edit mode just changes the dimensions of the object, not the width and so on, very confusing.

I'm just getting started in animation and the only program I have as of now is Blender 2.77. Will I still be able to follow along with this video or is there to much of a learning curve from 2.72 – 2.77? Please let me know when you can. Thanx👍
