In this video, Akash Hamirwasia shows you how you can create an Abstract Scene from cubes. Particle System was used.
The whole scene is filled with Blue and Black cubes which looks good!
Blender version 2.73 and the Cycles Render Engine was used…..

  1. hello there! your tutorial is great! what I liked the most was the music in the intro; it would be great if You could send me the the file or direct me where to get it ; I'll be happy to get it from you.
    Thank you in advance. FF

  2. hi Akash, thanks for the video, but I have a problem. I've tried it twice, and both times the cubes that show up from the particle system are either all blue or all red. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

  3. I found that my camera renders something extra that I didn't see in the rendered mode, but some extra cubes appeared when I do the final rendering. Is it because something was hidden? the camera was at the exactly same angle, and nothing is hidden in the outliner.

  4. Thanks for your tutorial. Helped me a lot. But then i tried it to let it look like there were only cubes (like in the wallpaper). Took some time, but i figured out what to change: In the particle settings use 'Faces' instead of 'Verts' and change particles/face to 1. Uncheck the 'Emitter' box in the render submenu. You now have to increase the number of emission, because the grid has faces on the back as well. Try, until the front is covered. To prevent seeing cubes from the back on the frontside, extrude the back of the grid a bit in the opposite direction. Hope i didn't forget something. Didn't try the node settings for the rendered image, so my rendering looks like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0rd6vex7u4awap/allcubes.png?dl=0
