Procedural texturing is great but those rendertimes can add up! Cycles baking to the rescue!

Great tutorial! Can anyone tell me what blender theme he is using here?
my head exploded.
You guys are better than NASA, they should hire you
I too like bacon it.
All I keep getting is a mesh that goes black after I connect the baked image to the material output. What am I doing wrong? Love your tutorials, BTW.
Hello. Another great tutorial. I do have a request though. I use Manuel Bastioni's Lab alot. I'm running on an old cpu until I can afford to buy a new one with a good graphics card. I want to bake the diffuse and normals and nothing else so that I can use the same textures in different scenes but I don't know how I would hook them back up once the bake is done because the setup is a little complex for my level. Would you mind taking a look at the Manuel Bastioni Lab's skin texture and reply back a fix? I know you're busy but I could really use the assist. I'm trying to get content ready to share with the world. Thanks
i got everything until, "its very easy". after that i got lost.. ๐
awesome tutorial, Aidy I want to congratulate you I was reading a 3DArtist magazine issue 107 and I saw you there talking about textures. you and your crew at CG Masters are the best keep it up with your awesome work.
so if i have a blank black image texture , everything rendered , and a uv setup
this will work??? im asking because ive taken several tutorials on this and cant figure it out
1:12 holy SHIT that node graph.
That's incredible.
it bothers me that the water is shiny, is there no waves on this planet
I've personally never found Gleb to be that helpful, I've followed his tutorials to the letter and he always seems to leave something potentially vital to knowing how to do something.
half an hour trying to do this and my error was that i didnt have it in rendered view…$#:$;/
can you explain the thing about the everything of it all again.
i didnt get it
๐
Nice hack again, could someone help me i'm stuck on the unwrap which is not explained :-s @ 3:20
Hi, can you talk more about procedural locomotion in animation? I have in mind the app idea and a lot of papers to loop through, but what are the most efficient methods for today is a real mystery for me now..
This so helpful THANK YOU!
Very good tutorial – well paced, adequately detailed, with all the information you need and straight to the point – not that common, especially in blender tuts ๐ Good promo for your course!
And the thing about stuff like baking in cycles is: it really IS simple and great… WHEN you already understand how it works – but to get there you have to spend many hours guessing the workflow and ideas behind it. I wish you had this video done like two years ago, I can only guess how this saves time and frustration ๐
Correct me if I am wrong ( its been a while since I played with blender) but on the second bake (5:54) it seems to me that you are you are baking from the already baked texture and not from the procedural shader.
Great video as always. Is there any special consideration that you should have in mind when using baking to 'translate' cycles materials to other BPR engine?
5:20 to 1:29… but how long does the baking takes? Is it really worth?
