This tutorial is for GIMP version 2.8 and is intended to teach beginners how to use the software. GIMP is a great free alternative to Photoshop.

Mind blowing ๐ ๐
i did the same to a laptop, but when i cut out the screen it left a white space instead of transparent.
edit: nvm i was an idiot and forgot to add alpha channel
Hi , what do you mean when you say : press the lead on the keyboard ? My English is not good good lol (for pop out the head off the cellphone ๐ )
when i delete the screen it turns white instead of transparent and then nothing goes as planned. whats wrong?
great tutorials.
am looking into vector logo designs in gimp
thanks
Is the alpha channel basically a layer of transparency which has to be created to get rid of the white background and stuff?ย
Sometimes I have problems understanding the concepts of the tasks you perform
Nick please make a vedio using water fall and phone image because I have a lot of confusion in it
If you are using mac, its function and backspace to clear

There are people who speak badly about Gimp because it is free software and inferior to Photoshop. I observe your work, I understand that software is just a tool in the hands of the artist.
is there magic eseaser tool in gimp like photoshop?
Thank you very much for sharing.
Nick,
thanks for this. Has given me an idea for a TV screen version. Will need to add "speech" in some form or another …..

So simple yet so awesome
Nice tutorial.
Another tip for GIMP users to scroll without hold click mousewheel, just hold down the spacebar and move your mouse.
Brother please make a vedio on logo art
Thank you thank you thanks to you my teacher gave me 20 of 20 computer in the photo shop
I love watching your videos. I've been using Photoshop CS6 since 2012, and I recently got Gimp because I got a new computer and I want an alternative to Photoshop since I can't afford to upgrade to Adobe CC. Anyway, I don't know how many of your videos I've watched already today about Gimp, but for this image that you're using, the phone image has a reflection. (1) would you recommend creating a reflection of the portrait you're popping out of the phone screen for the sake of continuity and if so, (2) how, in Gimp would you go about doing that?
thanks man
How about you make a web design with Gimp?
please title pl language title pl your tutorial efekt amazing god job
heeey nick would you recommend always using a 1280×720 size cause ive been trying some off your videos but with different picture sizes and it messes a lot up
hi nick. a quick and easy way to go about allowing pop out images.
Select part of the phone layer (diagonally dividing in half or doing quarters on each side) then adding your desired image in between layers. It's much faster but still only works with images with out backgrounds.
It mostly depends on the image. Otherwise the phone layer trick wouldn't work efficiently if the image has a background to remove.
Dear talented Nick , before I knew nothing about Gimp , then I watched your videos to learn , my skills really really improved , so BIG THANKS ! A little request , please do more videos .
woow sir..i didnt know a thing about gimp..you made me an editor thank you so much for these easy tutorials
Hey Nick! How do you finish the border around the image? You jumped this explanation on the video but I'm missing it. I'm trying to apply this technique somewhere else but I can't get passed the details like the eyelashes and always end up with a border around the face after cropping that doesn't look nice. Have you explained this in any of your tutorials?
Thanks NICK! You're the best like always! I really think GIMP should give a shoutout to you cause you made wanna buy the software
awesome. make more videos. nick you are truly pro
thanks, these videos are very entertaining and informative

Great job on these videos! I've been binge watching your stuff for the past few days and followed along with my own pictures. You've helped me learn a ton about Gimp. Thanks for making such a high quality learning resource!

i really really envy your work mate you are doing so amazing work . thank you teaching us the best way
why didn't u just use the fuzzy select tool. couldve removed that black screen in literally 2 seconds
if only i can hit that like button a thousand more times
I did it! This is a nice trick, much easier than deleting the unwanted parts with an eraser tool. https://prnt.sc/fsufcw
You can also use "command + X" on a mac to delete. ๐
Really great tutorial
nick, i advise you to use the white in the tutorial because it's more clear than the black theme
