Using Photoshop/Gimp, Inkscape, and Blender we will convert an image into a 3D object that looks great in renders.

Alright.. now to try do this with only the roads remaining out of a satellite image..and then try to put those roads on an existing lidar to mesh converted square km
I have a question, so after you do all the nodes for the image, can you then go and rotate the view and edit items here and there and once rendered it'll still hold those nodes? or is that for 2d images only?
Thanks for this tutorial, your shortcut key usage is awesome. Very helpful video.
can you extrude the middle also ?
Hi, how do I make just a flat plane of it? So in a way, I just need a plane that will have the shape of the texture (not a quad). Thanks.
i got a question do you guys know how to somehow get a hold of a grid option and be able to morph it because im wanting to take a 2d grid paper morph it into what a black hole would look like in a 2d spacetime then i would put light around the lines sence light travels along spactime and since black holes go so deep the light loses its energy trying to make it out causing it to fall back in the black hole making the black hole black so if i morph the 2d grid paper into what a 2d black hole would look like then put light lines beside the grid lines and put it into a good 2d to 3 blender i can see what a singularity of a black hole would look like at the center of a black hole and see what it would look like if a wormhole formed or see what it would look like if there was a ball of strings lol i would be able to see alot so is there any good blender that can do that many lines or any good grid paper software that allows you to bend it?
you showed did not explain
This doesn't work please help I put import to blender and nothing happens
I pressed "E" but its only moving side to side? What should I do?
You can actually do all this in Gimp and most likely also Photoshop. I'm not that familiar with photoshop, but all these apps that you use have come a long way since you made this vid.
Here's a script for Gimp that'll help you do it faster http://registry.gimp.org/node/25104
Very helpful!
Excellent step by step explanation. Much appreciated.
A little quick, but still helpful.
Hi. Im trying to do this but when i extrude it, it only lets me extrude along the x axis. plz help
Can Anyone help me out here im trying to make my logo 3d and i just cant do it if you would be willing to help let me know
This is a really good tutorial. You do need to pause and back track to keep up but that is what the pause button and progress bar are for. I have made a few 3D logos now following this tutorial. Good work AnonXmous.
Help, my curve only extrudes in the y axis.
COOL!!!!. xd. imma use dis vid tomorrow when i do it. xd.
Ugh this is confusing i just started to use it and ur pressing buttons i dont even know -_–
Why I can't import my file
Under the Render I do not have a Sampling tab so my image is still super grainy.
i pressecd 0 but it deletes the logo
Great Job!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Cool video. Can you backtrack if you mess up? In Inkscape its Ctrl Z but I don't know if Blender has that function. I should probably watch a basics video.
Great video. Shame this process is so complicated and requires three pieces of software.
How do i make sure the screen display is on???
Do you need Inkscape or Gimp?
All I have is Paint Tool Sai
Hey this helped me a lot but when ever i extrude my logo, it only selects one part of the logo and i have been trying for 2 hours and still doesnt work!!! <3 Pls HEEEEELP ME
Inkscape wont load
Could i do this to create clothing concepts like hoodies and t-shirts if so it would be great to see a video on this
About that black and white conversion…what if the logo in question uses gradient coloring instead of just a solid color?
As soon as I click on the 'Material' tab, it looks totally different to yours. There's nothing about Glossy BSDF or roughness or anything. There's a 'Surface' tab but it's still completely different to the one in this tutorial.
Great video! This helps alot when it comes to 3D printing also! I can display a beautiful rendered image of how it would look like for my creations. Thanks!
How Can I Save It Like A Mi=odel For A Game???
This saved me so much time! Thank you sooooo much!
dude, love it!!!! turned a simple picture into a beautiful 3d printed item. Little fast but I got this down thanks to you!
When I import the svg, it doesn't show up anywhere. Help?
Thanks for the tutorial. Can i use thesw instructions to make a Google map location (building) into a 3D object?
