For the "Scatter Box" you can disable the ray visibility for diffuse, glossy and transmission in the cycles settings of the object folder. Then you will not see the box like a grey mist around your galaxy.
@Blender Smoothie I used Pyramids for the stars and i was able to get at least another 100K stars
I can't put a Texture Node on the map PLS HALP!
loved your video
Good Video, very well made
how to download the project?
WOW this was awesome, very useful and my galaxy came out amazing.
Love the effects, I was wondering to you sell your works , I working on a film about space and like to buy some footage.
Do you do that?
I did a bunch of messing around with an RGB Curves and blur to give a similar effect the mask did, allowing it to be easier to work with in animations
Very nice tutorial! But I'm having the same problem as Michael van Dijk. The volumetric effect is visible. I have tried a lot of settings. Do you have an idea how to fix this?
Thank you.
Damn I was trying to do smth like this for half year, was close, thanks for tuto! ;D
For some reason my "volume scatter" box is very visible like a grey-ish white cloud-box :/

Thank u for this amazing tutorial. I have been looking for "How to make a spiral galaxy" for a long time. And this was also easy. GOD bless!
i think about someone making a realistic galaxy "1 planet done!…1253 more to go!"
you should have used the factor output of the noise texture, not the color
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I learned a lot about compositing from this.
