In this tutorial, learn how to use the free Windows application Wilbur to create realistic fractal-based eroded terrain maps, and how to apply those maps to create a planet render in Blender 3D.

What about water?
Followed everything u said EXACTLY and nothing worked i had a horrible slpit down the middle…. thx for wasting 40 mins of my life… the Bananna Gods will murder u for this xD
That's not branching off, that's merging. Rivers flow from high to low places, and almost never branch off. When they do, it doesn't last long.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks!
Huh try 4096, takes awhile, thank god for the 64 bit version
This is great!
Wilbur is my favorite for quickly making such maps to use in Blender and/or digital planetarium software.
Question….
Can you do something like this in normal Blender Render?
super
nice!
I used Blender only few times, and i really want to do a planet..but i do not see what is that you are doing and what is that you are clicking. once you are in Blender.. you are very fast, that great, but if you want to explain things for beginners as well, i would really appreciate ๐ Thank you
Very good tut! Been searching days for something like this.
Hi, Ben! You seem to know quite a lot about Blender and all this softwares. I'm a YouTube animator, and I have a small work proposal I wanted to ask you. Is there a way we could speak, like an email or something? Thanks a lot! Hope to hear from you!
Hey there can't seem to get those nodes that you got. What exact blender were you using and what should I do if I can't get that
Ben, I believe you may want to take a look at a project that I have been working on with a very few friends for a long time… so, I will see in what other ways we can communicate. Project Emrys and Replayability Consortium is the 2 main titles we go by currently. Hope to hear from you ๐
thanks ๐

When using a texture image for bump, you should switch to non colour for better results.ย Great tut!!
Thanks for the video. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Has anyone found any other program that is comparable to Wilbur?
Hi there, it seems that website with Wilbur does not exist anymore, maybe you can upload it to a fileshare ?
You have the WilBur? Plesae, Upload in Mega, I can't find
sorry for this question, im sure the answer to it is blatantly obvious, but when i use the nodes in blender, i do not get the 'image' option when adding a node so i cant add a height map, what am i doing wrong? thanks in advance ๐
Once I got to Incise Flow the program keeps crashing now ๐
Is the program known to be buggy?
Sorry I was wrong it was loading but it said "not responding" at the top left of the screen, weird.
I followed this till the point which you added the gradient texture and combined it with UV mapping, but when I set up the nodes the gradient texture had no effect. Do you know why this is?
