Can you animate a camera view where the camera scrolls around 360 degrees with the particles still randomly floating in space? How difficult is it to make a seamless gif?
ooook.
i have hp OMEN…. and it's so slow!!!!!
What pc do you have?
T.T
The surface is way too porous and irregular, it needs to be much smoother and less irregular because asteroids are relatively large in size and as such you don't see the porosity of the surface when you view the entire asteroid in frame, your asteroid looks more like a meteorite seen really close up, it lacks the visual weight/mass of an asteroid.
Andrew do you have a basic tutorial in building or creating a 3d mode, for example a 3D character of you Blender Guru.. Watching your video cracks me up sometime whenever you have a joke making watching more fun and not boring..
Oldie but a goodie. Thanks for the tutorial.
How were you able to get that box effect under Edit mode?
where can I get sound?
great info, im having some issues with the shortcuts because I use Mac…. do you have a OSX version of the tutorial?
The biggest Problem is…. 25k Verts for this poor Asteroid…. :p i think lower the subs and use a better texture so u can use Bumpmapping for get more realistic Asteroids, but anyway good Tutorial
Should update for Blender 2.78. Entire Texture system has changed.
How do i make the asteroid crash into a sphere?
Do u use Blender to get ur music in it? If so how? Lol, Ive went thru video editing on all my animations but not any of the sounds or music came out. Been having to use Windows Movie Maker and it always turns out fuzzy and blurred somewhat. If it doesnt work, do u know of any HD movie making software that will go great with Blender? And ty for this tut!!!
I'm sorry to say, but this asteroid looks nothing like a real one… This looks like a rock you pulled out of the dirt, while actual asteroids look more like a cobble with a bunch of craters. I wish you'd show us how to make that…
Can someone help? When I try to render the animation it flickers black and then the image over and over and i cant stop it
Where's the link!?
At the end i couldn`t put my blender render settings into cycles render.Does somebody know how.
hey, show us how animate the asteroid please!!
My render always looks speckled with black and white grains?
please someone help… how can i see the results?
it crash evrytim 🙁
DIDNT GOT THE STAR OPTION IN WORLD NODE?
Is it possible to keyframe the the asteriod particle's rotation properties (like phase) if the particle type set to "hair"? I AM able to when the particle type is set to "emitter," but NOT in "hair" mode, strange :S
+Blender Guru I guess you were playing with cube in Blender & by accident you discovered that you could create asteroid from it.. AWESOME
Thanks a lot, Blender Guru. You almost made my computer explode!
There wouldn't be any stars in the background since the asteroid is brighter than the surrounding stars.
Thus making it a pure black background.
That's also why there are no stars in the Lunar Landing pictures.
Thanks a lot!
How on earth do you make the rotation? Of the small roids?
does anyone know how to do the milky way effect in 2.72?
wait…never mind. lol
aw man, I was hoping andrew would show how to animate it as well…:/oh well. still a great tutorial.
I found this looking for the Rock generator as it was listed as a reference guide in it's PDF?
can not find help much out here…
no stars in blender 2.72 anymore… ?
good one Andrew!
Hey Andrew; Have you tried the Rock Generator Addon.
Works Slick!
i used noise in texture world to create the stars x]
Some constructive criticism . . . google "Images for vesta" . . . this "asteroid" has rocks floating all around it, but no craters . . .
2:50
90.000 verticles not enough.. lets set it to 300.000 xD
wow I love your tutor
Has anyone found a way to make stars in 2.70? I don't know why they got rid of them in this latest update.
And nodes are different as well 🙁
No stars in Blender 2.70 T_T
I just used small asteroids as particles. I think my PC is going to explode..
But great tutorial, thanks.
My blur node is affecting the stars what have I done wrong? Please, help me someone. I can send the blender file and you could take a look…
Hey there Andrew, super cool tutorial!
Thank you very much on sharing the knowledge with us :))
How did you get the box around the asteroid to re-size it? I cannot get mine to do it.
at 16:05 when i click on texture it is blank i cant add a texture help please
One question: I am assuming this will be too many polygons for to be used in a game? i.e. in unity3d?
