It could help to set the velocity damping on the cloth to something high and to animate the shape key slider so you don't have to drag it while it's playing
just so you know there is an option under selection to to alternating selection, like every other face etc.
thank you! Hope you'll do one with sewing too!
Nice tutorial! Beautiful result! But please don't use bad words. )))
gardinen in ein paar sekunden aufhängen
I was able to follow it, although I am not too happy the way my curtains came out. Still, I learned a little work flow, etc. Thanks.
Thank you. Being a total noob I learned a lot from this tutorial, though I'll probably forget a lot of it (specially all that stuff you did in the node editor). By the way, for selecting "every other one" of the vertices, select the whole row with ALT+right click just like you said and then go to Select>Checker Deselect, and with F6 you can select the number of vertices you want to skip. That surely saves a lot of time, specially considering i'm using a touchpad at the moment.
I love to see how you make a skirt with gathered ruffles at waist band. I tried but it is too challenging. I try again.
Great tutorial, very useful.. I’ve learned a lot of things! Many, many thanks! And it was very fun, too. Boy, you are my hero!… Making a tutorial at 5 a.m.!? Awesome and heroic act. Congratulations!
Faut pas faire des tutos en étant bourré, mec.
Great tutorial for curtain design with blender. As a curtain maker, I used to make curtain with 3dsmax and blender, but it takes me much time, not practical for many situation. Now I use 4design software for curtain design. Effect not so professional, but enough for showing my curtains to customers.
9:40,, the glass doesn't work. Just give a reflection.
OkaY…No Glass! 🙂
save time : select whole line of edges then use Checker Deselect..
you can also use a tieback mesh to animate it pulling the curtain to desired position.

22:30 you've made one curtain, just duplicate it.. and scale in edit mode
x -1
wa la ..
thank you very very much!
Really nice tutorial, I knew how to do it in 3DS max, but couldn't figure it out in blender, I've learned whole new thing thanks to you 🙂
Yes but you need to click apply on the cloth modifier first.
Could I make one curtain, shape it and then duplicate it, couldn't I? However great tutorial! Thank you SO MUCH!
