Question!! At the end of your Retopology… What is the best way to Apply the modifiers you've used? Specificaly the Shrinkwrap modifier…?
Very helpful! I am not going from high poly to low poly… On the contrary I am taking one of my old character models and updating it to animate better!!! I didn't want to go in and make manual cuts and such. So this is great! Thank you!
this is good stuff
nice man….i was looking for exact same thing
Why don't more people do videos this way?! This IS what I want from a 'how to' it's fairly short, gets to the point, and doesn't spend an hour doing it on their own project. It's just, this is how! Good on ya! You just got a subscriber with this!
Ty!!
how do you apply the shrinkwrap without it deforming?
Really good thank you so much!
You have changed the game completely my friend, completely.
<3
This doesnt work on my model, the plane never shows fully above the mesh even though I must of watched this video at least ten times and tried 20 times
How do you do that at 5:50 ?creating new quads that fast ?
How do you apply those mods after finishing retopology? When I apply the shrinkwrap first, the subdivisions will be lost and applying the subs first will increase the number of vertices by a lot. Maybe someone can help me. 😀
Wow, Thanks.
Thanks dude!!
This will be handy. I've been struggling with the amount of time I've had to line up my vertices.
Dude, you forgot to show us what to do after we're done. How do I re-create the new mesh?
Yay!! Thank you!, works like a charm!! 🙂
This was very useful to me. I would like to see you retopo the whole model though! What I need now is someone going through the retopo workflow and narrating why they make the descisions they do, because although I have read a lot: "that it's for animation" noone seems to explain "how" or why we need retopo to look like it should! I know you need face loops around eyes etc but I don't really know why, my character has 2d eyes so I guess it doesn't matter for my character? Or maybe it does? If I need to squash the face and I have to paste the 2D eyes on a flat place? Learning with tutorials is so fragmented. Does the loops have to go all around? Odd or even numbers of loops? I'm just winging it. Maybe I will discover for myself when I start to learn rigging.
hi, when i add mirror modifier, my plane doesn't duplicate…
Thank you for sharing!!
Wow! Just wow! Nice tut.
And just like that blender surpasses topogun and 3D coat ><
what is this necessary for?
It's working pretty well, but the boxes that would normally surround the planes are far away from the sculpt.
Wow , this video is helpful , thx
In most cases the shrink wrap modifier isn't even necessary .
Snap to face is often more then enough
Thank you very much for this tutorial.your the best.
I am trying to follow along with this tutorial using Blender 2.8 (version from 12-18-2018) and I am unable to find the Project individual elements on the surface of other objects command. Any tips on how to activate this in 2.8?
DUDE! I'm really new to modeling/texturing and THIS……. THIS is a game changer for me. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Dammit, modifiers still don't work in 2.8 beta.
wow nice i will try
Many thanks!!
i've always gotten frustrated w/ my retop setup and ended up abandoning projects because i hated doing retop in blender. this totally changes things and actually makes it enjoyable for me now. thanks so much.
Bro now weakly challenge is there how to participate there
Nice thanks!
🤔
Clothing too huh like those stockings I've been making lately!
Neat!
Best tut for retopo!
