  1. Hugely valuable vid. Thanks for sharing. Has solidified that I need to upgrade glass and get a 16-35. Been working around w/ a few different options for Ultra Wide and haven't found anything I can use that's so versatile: Canon 10-18, Canon 24mm, Sigma 10-20, nothing is what I'm going for. Will look to try the L-series for my next purchase at my local store. Appreciate it!

  2. sir can u tell me can I use ef lenses on aps c camer? like 70d body? is it good or bad? or ef lens good only for full frame body? I knew somebody I can use both lens efs and ef on aps c censor. plz ans asap.

  3. THANK YOU – amazing video and helped me make up my mind as to my next purchase! My only questions is how in the party/dancing photos did the photo not come out blurry when you were set at such a slow shutter speed?

  4. Wow, Tom, thanks so much for this video. I've been stuck with a 50mm (on an APS-C) for really a long time and just got a 24mm. It is not a really wide angle but I've found myself stuck and not knowing how, when and, most importantly, why use the wider lens. Your examples and warnings made perfect sense and I'll try to explore this aspects.

  5. great vid. I agree, I picked up a canon efs 10-18 STM IS lens last year for my 7d and I agree with what you said. cool for outdoors, landscape architecture and landscape. I prefer to use it for night cityscape shots. I also have a Sigma 24-70 2.8 DG for my 5d mkII for everything else. I def want to try a prime 35mm or 24mm 1.4

  6. Great tops on the wide angle lens. I am going towards a Tamron 16- 300mm. Maybe the tokina 11-24 mm. I have a Nikon 5100 and before that the Nikon 40 w 18-270 mm lens.
Back in the day I would use a Nikon F with 50 1.4 and 35 mm to shoot weddings. I look forward to more of your videos

  7. Hi there Tom,
A really educational video indeed. I am a language teacher by vocation and I really think you did a good job of selling yourself in this video.
I have been on the look out for a wide angle lens for a few months now and have watched countless videos however hardly anyone explains in detail as well as you do.
You actually give specs on your photos which is a great reference for a learner or novice who cannot cannot understand completely iso versus speed versus aperture.
I was going to ask you which wide ( ultra wide ) angle lens you would recommend but I see your ( L ) lens are primarily for those not on a budget (!)
Your explainations make this video so much more.
    Many thanks

  8. Very nice and I learned some useful tips. I am assuming the camera you were using was with a full frame sensor. Some people may need a reminder if they are using a camera with a smaller sensor to do the conversion to know the equivocal length. Cheers!

  9. I would like to thank you for this excellent teaching video. You truly drove home the point of composition. I learned so much more watching your video about composition and wide angle lens. So far, the best of its kinds. Cheers!
