Wildlife Photographer Morten Hilmer is in the mountains of Switzerland to do landscape photography in the beautiful Zernez national park.

Follow Morten behind the scenes in this short film that shows the beauty of nature and the good feeling of being with a friend doing what you love the most. Hopefully it can be an inspiration for other nature photographers.

••• ABOUT THIS EPISODE •••
———————————————

In Landscape Photography in Switzerland I am in Switzerland to visit my good friend Luca Guglielmetti. We are in the Zernez national park where we live in a small wooden cabin in the woodland. After a busy time back in Denmark with lots of lectures, book publishing and wildlife photography this trip was just what I needed. No internet, now telephone now duties – just a lot of what I love the most. Nature, photography and a good friend.
This short video is just ment as an inspiration for getting out with the camera in the beautiful autumn.
In this episode I am using the Nikon D5 with the Tamron 150-600 G2 and the Nikon 24-70 VR.

••• WHO I AM •••
—————————-

My name is Morten Hilmer and I work as a professional nature and wildlife photographer. In a serie of short 4K videos I will share my fascination of nature with you and invite you behind the scene when I am out photographing the fascinating wildlife, the stunning landscapes and the wild nature. I work as a ILCP photographer, and nature conservation is very close to my heart.

For me nature photography is all about sharing the unique experiences and to put awareness to nature conservation. Furthermore my goal is to inspire as many as possible to get out and experience the true beauty of nature.

“I have served in the Danish military special unit, the Sirius Patrol, for two years and that has given me the skills and confidence to operate alone in the arctic regions. I have spent two further years in the northern parts of Greenland meeting the local people and working on photography projects. My driving force is a sense of adventure and my fascination for nature, and my curiosity and empathy for other cultures has led me to many remote regions.”

Read more about my time in the Sirius Dogsled Patrol: http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20160226-photographing-greenlands-elite-dog-sled-patrol.

Beside the publications my photographs has been awarded in the Wildlife photographer of the year and European Wildlife photographer of the year photo competitions.

In spring 2017 I published my book Silence of the North: https://mortenhilmer.com/en/shop/silence-of-the-north/

  1. Hi Morten, thanks so much for taking me on this little break in the mountains. I really enjoyed it, just the three of us 😉, so calm and peaceful – beautiful! Looking forward to our next trip already! 😀👍🇬🇧

  2. Yes, I agree with others – keep it up, and post even short videos when you don’t have extra time. Your gift is not only your photography, but the ability to convey your enthusiasm and love for the natural world. You are inspiring!

  3. Great stuff. Love the videos, and your dedication is truly inspiring. Makes me want to get out there right now! I do have a question: which bags do you use? Particularly the ones that will fit the longer lenses, but I’m interested in what holds up well enough for the things you do. Thanks!
