Hi Ed, Im only new to photography and Im very thankful for your tips. I have a Question about blending the bracketed shots in Lightroom. Iv been taking bracketed shots of the sunsets here in Adelaide South Australia and I have seen your HDR tutorials, Im wondering if there is a way to speed up the blending? For example if iv takes 30 bracketed shots of the sun set (so I have 100 photos) can I some how HDR them all at the same time or do I have to go through them all individually? Or should I just not take so many photos and pick my moments a bit more strategically? If you could give me some advice on how you do this that would be amazing. Thanks

Great tutorial! Do you know if instead of taking 3 different photos with different exposures, can I just take one photo and change exposure in my light room and then create hdr like that? Would that be easier and more sharpness?

What's the lens correction?
I use Photomatix which is a dedicated HDR software.You can also use it as a plugin for Lightroom vs a stand alone program.
The issue I keep getting is Unable to merge the photos. One ore more of the selected photos may lack metadata necessary for merging.
How do I fix this issue so that I can follow along with the tutorial?

LR would not complete the Merge to HDR. It got stuck at 75% on the progress bar. The file was around 9MB and it was a JPEG. LR did the same thing when trying to import a 2MB JPEG that I processed in Photomatix. Any idea why LR hating me trying to use HDR? LOL

Thanks Ed, and PIC, I love your stuff! Especially this HDR Photography lightroom tutorial. I have to say the shaker in your theme music is really loud. Have you thought about getting it professionally mixed, and maybe pan it too. I think some people would really not want to watch all these videos with the loud shaker.
Mine says unable to merge photos cancel and reselect I can't get them to merge and are they the same file numbers?
I have a section of a photo that has a piece of a nearby building that I want to get rid of. If I go to each individual photo before merging I have no problem using the spot removal tool. However, the HDR feature does not allow me to merge the photos with the spot removal applied. In other words the new HDR photo merges the images and shows the original area that I wanted removed. Because the dynamic range has now increased dramatically in the merged photos applying the spot removal tool does a terrible job of trying to remove the area with the spot removal tool. Is there any way to merge the images using Lightroom CC with the spot removal tool applied to the individual images?
+Snap Language It is very simple in Lightroom yes, however you are limited to the 'sliders'. I photoshop you have unlimited options. for example you can edit all layers independently in Photoshop, I lightroom you combine the layers to create a photo with great dynamic range then just edit this image as a single layer. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks Ed, for another good video tutorial. The HDR feature added to Lightroom CC/6 is a great addition. It's also one of the easiest to use functions of LR now and I suspect the sheer number of HDR images shared on the Net will increase dramatically.
I'm not a big fan of the garish HDR look that I have seen in the past. I made a comment once that it was the "velvet paintings" of the 21st century. The last big hot rod car show I went to had several booths selling gaudy, neon-like photos of motorcycles and custom cars. I belong to photo forums that members sometimes post their neo-expressionist HDR images to. But I realize now that this was an unfortunate misunderstanding on my part. I've since discovered some beautiful HDR work done by wonderful artists, some of it quite natural looking and even some that are fabulously vivid.
Your video might have been enhanced had you offered some commentary on the medium, as well as a few examples of your own HDR work. It prob'ly could have been done by adding only a couple minutes to the video, thus keeping it relatively short, which seems to be what many viewers want.
Sound quality was fine. You seem to be using quality equipment – well, except for the funky mic stand, but that might be in keeping with your playful style anyway. 😉 Your video presentations appear very professional to me though. I'm not sure each video should be the place you seek feedback on the production. It might take away from the subject matter of the video. Perhaps you could leverage the power of your intended audience by joining a popular photo forum (I like The Photo Forum best, but there are many others). There, you can post a link to one of your videos (it will appear in your post) and ask for feedback on the production values. You'll get replies from amateurs and accomplished photographers alike. It will also increase your viewers and subscribers.
Just a thought, but again, I'm not sure it would be good to turn this video comment section into a discussion of your production style rather than a dialog about using the LR HDR feature. I'd enjoy the conversation, of course, but more so on a forum or even through email. I firmly believe you have great potential with your videos and wish you every success.
