Hey guys! Want to learn how to create awesome macro photos without expensive gear and lighting equipment? Look no further!

Your camera settings will not be the same as mine of course, but having a closed aperture (higher number) will create sharper images with macro because the depth of field is so small. You want your ISO to be on 100 or lower in order to have maximum sharpness, and then adjust your shutter speed up and down until your live view looks bright enough to see your image. If it is too bright, go back down on your shutter speed.

Again, you do not need an iPad or a monitor or screen in order to accomplish this, but if you wanted to. You could set this up directly in front of your computer monitor and achieve awesome results! The reason I choose to do this indoors and next to a window is for controlled climate. Outdoors you compete with wind, rain, and other challenges and it can be really difficult to capture the photo you want. If you do not have a tripod, you can find something to prop up your camera lens and do this on your kitchen table — just be sure that your camera is on a stable surface!

Here is a link to the Vivitar Extension Tubes that I was using for this video. The extension tubes remove the lens from your camera to simulate a microscope.

If you have any questions, I’ll try to respond back to you as quickly as possible!

Much love guys, thanks for watching!

  1. Very cool! Going to give this a shot with my extension tubes this coming weekend. I did something similar with a sheet of glass from picture frame treated with Rain-X to bead the water. Subscribed…look forward to more from you. Cheers!

  2. There are a few ideas worth trying
    Don't have a long to-do list
    Learn to say 'No'
    Do most important tasks first
    Simplify and de-clutter
(I learned these and the reasons they work on wilfs blueprint system site )
