In this tutorial I demonstrate how to build a low polygon hand control cage that can be shaped and smoothed later to create a detailed photoreal hand model in Autodesk Maya 2012.

  1. Out of all of the 3D tutorials I have seen, yours has been the most clear. You really take the time to go over everything you are doing and why you are doing it. It really helps. I subscribed and I can't wait to watch more of your videos! 🙂

  2. Found this part o the tutorial nice but the second part is so retarded. The reference image is out an really doesn't match up, and you skip over the making of the detail needed for the hand so in the second part you are screwed. i have done tutorials that take 30 minutes which cover more information and have the final out come as your final product. I would recommend to everyone to find a diff tut this one will screw you in the end =

  3. I had the same problem with the edges going haywire when I changed the height subdivisions on the beginning finger, just make a new one and set the settings before it is even made in the options box
