That was fun hope we do it again.
Neither of these guys would survive if they turned that into my teacher.
omg.
i tried maya once and i think the ui is superextreme stupid
you made that in an hour? xD
16:40 it’s called “selecting an edge loop”. Edge loops are very important in mesh modelling.

Not fair: Student Edition of Maya versus Unlimited Pro edition of Blender!
Blender is like the Rodney Dangerfield of the CGI world: it don’t get no respect. But that’s changing, slowly: https://www.blender.org/media-exposure/the-art-of-open-source/
blender can only be useful for creating game models but maya is useful in a lot more stuff and its a bigger program that you can t learn it all if you want to make money in a program between maya cinema 4d or blender maya should be your first choice
it takes time to know which one is good.
Nice video =) Really enjoyed it, you should try the same challenge in a year or so, by then both of you will most likely be 10 times better. Best of luck =)
You change the background with shaders. For both Blender and Maya, you use nodes (or a network in Maya parlance).

Five other ways to make the headband in Blender:
1) Bend a cylinder with a lattice.
2) Subdivided cylinder and curve modifier
3) Skin modifier on a curve.
4) Lathe it with the spin tool or screw modifier (not screw tool).
5) Bend a cylinder with simple deform modifier.
Also, the issue you had with the cylinder can be solved with the edge split modifier or by adding loop edges around the corners.
If you're using smooth shading, crease edges (Ctrl + E menu) to avoid smoothing those.
these guys model so strangely, but they're very enjoyable to watch
I like blender UI, more flexible, more efficient.
Would you be able to buy a 3D printer?
Oh hey, is that Doctor Oobleck from the RWBY amino?
That was fun hope we do it again.
