I think this video is too old and probably at that time blender don't have cloth simulation feature!
Thank God for you man. It seems like any time I'm having an issue with something I can just browse through your videos and find a fix and the end result is always high quality.
What about shrinkwrap modifier? Is it a safe option here?

I am having a big issue when i try to do this, first its very hard to see the lines i make, and second the mirror wont show any lines it only appears when i make a face.
instead of creating all creases manually , isnt it simple to wrap a cloth rightly on upper edge and then pivot on the rope start and use a cloth simulation ? i have not tried it on cloths but i had seen one tut on youtube where he used cloth simulation for curtains and it really created nice creases when starting points were pivoted.
The trick with the magnet tool is a very handy one. Did not knew that one. Will save me a lot of time in the feature. thanks
Since we are at this point about half through the modeling series I'm sharing this once again. At this point the body is entirely completed and I'll start to show you how I create cloth.
