Select File-Automate-Contact Sheet II. Select the images to process in folder “resized”, unit: pixels, width: 790, height: 790, resolution 200 pixels/inch, place: across first, column: 10, rows: 10, and tick the ‘Rotate for best fit’ checkbox. Click OK. Wait for a moment until Photoshop finishes creating your Contact Sheet.

Step 8: Define Pattern for Mosaic.
Choose Edit- Define Pattern. Name it like ‘Mosaic-Pattern’. Click the OK button. Now you can save and close your Contact Sheet document.

Step 9: Open Your Main Image and Create a New Layer.
Choose File-Open or else just press Ctrl+O to Open up your main image in Photoshop. Click the Open button. Create a new layer to fill with our mosaic pattern by choosing Layer-New-Layer or else just press Shift+Ctrl+N. Leave the default settings and click OK.

Step 10: Fill the New Layer with the Mosaic Pattern.
Select the new layer (Layer 1) on the Layers panel and then choose Edit- Fill. Select Pattern in Use drop-down menu. In the Custom Pattern, choose the mosaic pattern that we previously created. Click the OK button.

Step 11: Desaturate, change the Blend Mode and Opacity.

  1. when creating the contact sheet, the images come with the file name as well and i cant find an option to turn that off. i have to delete the texts separately but it still creates a gap between the images. how can i resolve this?

  2. this helps. Thanks. Was a bit confused because there were so much space between the pictures in contact sheet. Did a little research on google and i found out that you have to resize every pictures to become unisize (im sorry i dont know if this's the right term) to get rid of the space.
