PHOTOGRAPHY USING LOW ANGLES

The current photo assignment is about shooting low angle photography. Since I gave the assignment, I figured I probably should provide some instruction. Feel free to leave questions in the comments!

  1. Great video as always.

I would like to ask what is Micro Contrast? Does it really exist? And if so how can it be recognized?

I really wish if you can do a video on this confusing topic.

And one last thing what Canon lens has the best Micro Contrast?

    Thank you so much ?.

  2. Hi Ted, great video, as always, I may have to add. Your channel is a real treasure in a otherwise mostly noisy media world.

A question I wanted to ask for while is: What’s your point on the whole copyright issue with photographs, let’s say concerning the old masters, etc. What is allowed to use as a "journalistic" blogging person, when would you ask for permission, and whom to ask, let’s say if you show something from HCB as a reference?

I’m also asking because, in some counries the laws may be more prohibitive than elsewhere, would be interesting to elaborate a bit on that.

Maybe that topic could make it in a feature vlog post. 😉

  3. Thank you for this video, very helpful, especially as I decided to use this low angle as my project 365 for 2017. I had been taking very low, ground level images since 1st Jan, but on the 13th I slipped on ice and fractured three ribs, which currently makes getting down low difficult. So I've been taking other low angles, based on the height of subject or the surface it's sitting on. It's a tough assignment that's for sure. Even without the rib problems. Hopefully I will get 365 photos by the end pf the year and some of those will be half decent.

  4. As always Ted, another great video with superb content!

As an aside, I find it hilarious that you're 'still in boxes'! As a frequent mover myself (thank's Uncle Sam), I completely understand! LOL!

  5. Yep, camera position matters. A lot in fact. One of the most underestimated variables in photography these days, I can't help thinking. Another inspirational composition video, Ted. Keep them coming.

  6. This video is absolutely beautiful. The music, commentary, and curated images are all spectacular and I actually had a warm, emotional response to the lesson. I was struggling with this assignment and how to move beyond accentuation of the foreground in the photos and this has given me some great ideas. Thank you so much. You have such a gift for making these ideas accessible and helping to expand my creativity without making me feel more paralyzed by more options/ideas.
