This is an update of the Face-Painting tutorial http://youtu.be/8lO6ip7udR0. Special thanks to siva s, Dave Emmerson, Mark Byrne and IVIusicFiend who suggested to use a displacement map for this tutorial.
In this tutorial I’ll be showing you how to superimpose a flag on a subject’s face in Adobe Photoshop and use a displacement map to stretch the flag image over the subjects face.
This can be used for your public profile pictures for Facebook, Twitter or other social media profiles.
You have the freedom to paint your face or body with any graphic you like. It can be any sports team soccer – football baseball team you support or the logo of an organization or company you represent. It can be a clown or a cartoon character. It can be for fun or a for serious cause.
In a later video, I’ll be demonstrating how you can use the same method to to create a Tattoo Effect.

  1. nice and basic . i would have included refining edges in the hair as thats ok for beginners and is quite an important part. i saw another video from blue lightning. hes very robotic and doesnt explain anything, where as you, actually do. which helps alot. He chose ''colour burn'' where as you didnt. is there any reason for that?

  2. I followed your guide by using the greece flag (which is blue & white) on a persons face and it worked without any problems.
Second time I tried it with the polish flag (white & red) on another persons face, but this time the white color doesn't appear.. Instead the white color looks like as the "saturation" grey/ash color..

I followed ur guide step by step.. so I don't understand what has gone wrong?
I have also tried to re-install Photoshop without luck..

Any idea what I'm doing wrong ?

    edit:
You know what, I think the white color on both of my pictures is "grey/ash" like the "saturation effect".. How do I make it more white?
