To those using 2.72:

awsome tutorial! thank you!! :3
LP water tutorials on YouTube really need to spend more time focusing on lighting. Honestly, I found that to get the look here you almost need to add a transparency node. Maybe I am making NEWB mistakes though.
help. i'm usin 2.77 and things changed. and i cant find the glass shader
How do i subdivite it
I keep coming back for the music, but it got removed so I use the link! XD
every time I add one of those modifiers nothing happens, the displace, it just puts it down.
could anyone help me?my blender is the 2.71 so i was trying to find that part where you have those conected boxes, but i'm still new using blender so idk where it is ;-; i'm really needing help, because i was doing my first game,if anyone want to help pls coment to me

how can i move the water?
You REALLY helped me :3
Great job!
you forgot to point out about the cloud texture you need to add for the displace modifier to work, but good job…
Hellllllppppp everytime I click displace the entire plane just gets raised and when I click new texture it just becomes lower I don't know what I'm doing wrong D:::::
It's a great tutorial too bad so many things have changed in blender it's quiet hard to follow it now. For example I can't find the glass shader…:S
Eh. I will go to blender guru's realistic water. This is simple af
Hey! What's up?
So.. I've tried this, but it reflects too much of the environment around it…
I'm actually making a swimming pool, but I can't really see the ceramics below the water level, because this Glass material reflects too much of the house near it. What can I do?
If anyone is interested, I have a tutorial on a simple way to animate it 🙂
Could you please change your channel's name. It's very disturbing and disgusting.
Please help: when I do this my water layer is very dark and leaves a very dark shadow on my plane below
youre too fast
Displace and Decimate. A Low poly artist's best friend. 😀
Well, how to animate it ?
I dont have a surface tab in my side bar? Where do I go to set the glass/water shader?
I am having a problem: the water gives of shadows on my floor. Not just shadows, but the floor looks pure black if I have my water above it….
Hi, maybe silly question, but can you explain how to use displace modifier correctly in Blender 2.75? When I use displace modifier with simple texture my plane is not going to displace as in your video but just like "falls" little bit down. I'm able to achieve something similiar with use of Material with selected Distorted Noise but I don't know if this is correct approach.
Man, can u help me? My superfice menu does not appear in the options. Blender version is 2.75. Thanks
When i add ne texture to displece modifier, nothing happens. please help 🙁
off-topic : which video editor do you use ? 😀
When I head to the materials menu, my surface options aren't there. Please help! D:
gr8 video, subbed
In Blender 2.74, the Displace modifier was not functioning like it was supposed to. However, when I switched over to ver. 2.70 it worked just fine. Any thoughts? Seems strange
After displacement,Go to texture and choose " Clouds" else displacement will not work. Had some minutes figuring why i do everything like you but it just dont get fractal.. Thanks for the tutorial
wow, thank you. 🙂
Same problem here as with the LowPoly Gradient Desktop Tutorial. Applying Displacement to plane results in the entire plane translating, no per vert effect. Any tips?
I made a water plane in v 2.73 for a glade model I was making, but it turned out pitch black. I set the IQR to 1.333 and everything. Got any idea what's happening? Thanks.
Perfect!
My water isn't see through! I've got a rediculously high powered light shining on it, and it seems to absorb almost all the light. Some glass this is -.-
how do you do transparent background????
whats the hotkey you used when you did the subdevide? also great job! this is exactly what i needed 😀
