In this 10 part series I’m going to show you how to rig a cartoon cat in Maya. This tutorial series covers creating joints inside the mesh, skinning, creating animation controls and organizing your scene. Rigging is a complex and difficult process. You may not get it right the first time but keep at it and try things again after a break and eventually you’ll have a fully working character to animate!

  1. I can make the joints fine but I can't actually see them unless I select them so they're hidden in the actual cat mesh and it can make it a little awkward. Is there a tool or display I could change to fix this? Note I am using Maya 2016. Thank you.

  2. For someone that has never worked with Maya and Rigging and on top of that has been a Max guy for many many years your approach to explaining is rather pleasant and easy to follow. All i can say is that the model is simple enough for the tutorial, and the explanation is much better then what Digital Tutors had where they take you through all the options making you want to delete the program. Kudos to you to explaining stuff like you would to a total beginner.
