I learned a lot from this video. I tried making my bones in Gmax but it doesn't seem that the skeleton doesn't get exported into the obj format. I think I may still opt to create and map my meshes in Gmax but after watching this video, I think Blender may do a a more efficient job of skinning.
great tuto!!
Both of my arm rigs move with each other the left arm doesn't stay on the left it moves with the right
4:36 how did you select all at once..? can please help ? which keys you used ?
Heyo! Love the video! Really informative! I have, hopefully, a small problem. I followed the steps from the video but now when I tried to parent the mesh to the armatures with automatic weighting Blender keeps telling me "Bone Heat Weighting: Failed to find one or more solutions…." Is there something I am doing wrong by chance? Hope to hear back from ya so! Thank you advance!
Super useful, thanks!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Absolute basic rigging, quick and simple as a jumping off point for something more detailed later.
To mirror left right: Shif S cursor at center – pivot to 3d cursor. Shif D S X -1. Job done
FK Only.
i put every bone in my guy and followed everything (i think?) you said but when i move the bone, it just clips out of the mesh
There is no option to keep offset
You are a blessing from god, these tutorials get straight to the point and I love em
Bro!! I have been wanting to learn how to rig characters for a long time but everything I found was either too hard or not free. But this!?!? This totally NAILED IT for basic concepts that I TOTALLY needed. Great job Grant Abbitt. Like for you!!
Another great tutorial!
Good work.
Awesome! Very easy to do!
hi Grant, nice tutorial. do you know how to patch a square hole? I have probelm with patching that square hole.
Can I have a question ? What is the meaning of mirror in blender ? Thank You
Imma try this tutorial
Ok i would say this guy sounds like he knows something.
When i select one bone and i move it, the bone turns bigger, and the model what i'm trying to rig too
What can i do? The model just deforms really uglily
Kisses 4 you boi.
I got everything working but my model isn't moving, only the bones are
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I followed the tutorial
Thank you so much!!!! There are a lot of other tutorials that dive into overly complex approaches. This really helped me get started!
Thanks man :D!
Please help!
Blender stops responding when i click with automated weight
Super useful, thanks!
