PART 3: (coming up)
In this video I’m mainly giving three tricks to composition:
1:20 – “Off-centre subjects”
1:41 – “Background distractions”
2:16 – “Angles”
If you like the video, make sure to stick around for more goodies!
Notes:
* Most (but not all!) of the images you see in the video are taken with my Sony Xperia Z1 – you can see those, including others, on my Flickr at https://flic.kr/s/aHsjTjeNMD
* The black and white camera app that you see in the end, “Monochrome”, is an app that I recently started programming, which should be compatible with any recent Sony smartphone. I would’ve submitted the app to in the Play Store if it didn’t cost me $25 to sign up… maybe one day I will!

Hi Herman…. Nice work. Waiting for more tips on photography.
With your tips i was able to take some beautiful pictures from my Xperia Z2.
Thanks A lot ……
Hello Herman,
I am new to photography and I would like to know a couple of things:
1. What app did you tap on the home screen to capture the black and white images?
2. Is it possible to focus on objects one after other during the video recording using the Xperia Z camera? (just the same as you show in the start of the tutorial from 0:08 onwards)
Will appreciate you response. Thank you
Nice tutorial. Really helped me unlock the potential of my Xperia Z camera.
How did you get the manual icon on your home page to launch the camera?
Freezing people indoors with flash. Party shots.
I thought there was action scene mode to help with this.
Very nice tutorial. ๐ Would love to see more tips for smartphone photography. I recently got my xperia z3. It takes really nice photos, but i know it can do it a bit better. I watched your first tut and it really helped me get better shots. I hope there is more to come.
Thanks for good tips ๐ You speak too fast :p
