SO i made that star trails video and i thought… can I still improve…the answer was yes the moment i found your video…thanks a lot
There's a much easier way. It's called film and a shutter release. With slide film all the stars don't look white.
I didn't know up until now that Jascha Richter (from Michael Learns to Rock) is also a professional photographer 😂
Here's the challenge for you, make star trails while taking a ride in a car with a constant speed… Let me know if that's possible. Thanks
wipe the lens while the shutter is taking the photo???
great video, research flat earth, this proves the earth is stationery
great channel Tony and Chelsea
Nice goatee! Seriously though, it threw me off because I just started watching you about a year ago so this is my first throwback. Great work you guys do!
A very good and comprehensive presentation.

I made a mistake and set my camera to shoot JPG instead of RAW.
Thank you!!! It has been super helpful!
Very helpful as the book of course 🙂
Just a tip, if any clouds do pass and you see them in your Images, just delete the individual frames and stack the rest in the Star program.
Not all is lost!
Subbed you, sub back?
Is it possible to use the in camera settings for interval shooting to create a timelapse with 30" shots over a desired amount of time, rather than setting your camera up to continuous mode and using an intervalometer? Only asking because I want to go out tonight to try star trails but I don't have an intervalometer. I can see the intervalometer coming in handy if I wanted to shoot say 2 minute exposures and stack those, I just don't understand why I'd need it with the 30 seconds exposure. Am I missing something? Thank you!
Thanks Tony, great video. I've never really understood the appeal of star trails. The results look like you screwed up when shooting the night sky, LOL.
I'm trying long exposure night pics tonight with my Mavic pro drone. I think 8s is the longest I can do. Have you ever tried it with your drone? tips?
Can I use bulb or time on my Nikon d5300 for the trail
I don't personally own a camera or have too much of an interest in photography, but I have to say that this tutorial definitely sparked an interest in me. Your explanations are clear and concise, this video is great. Thanks!
Where to get the software? 🤔
Great Video!
Do you think a couple of 30sec videos is better that a lets say 2h shot with a filter?
I generally do 20 secs since 30 secs starts to give me trails.
my nikon kit lens doesn't have an infinity focus symbol. how can i find it?
I'm having trouble getting setup with that application it's asking for some things that make me nervous anyone dealt with this?
Can I use a 30 mm lens for this?
Should you use a fish eye lens for stars? when should you use a fish eye lens.
In your opinion what is the best camera for the beginner to shoot star trails?
I can see the noise in your sweater lwall 😂😂😂
Additional tip: Get a head lamp that has 'red light' mode as well as white light, that way you won't have to keep waiting for your eyes to readjust after image reviewing or working the controls on the camera
Love your videos, just bought your book and so far it has been extremely helpful and easy to understand so many things that were not as clear as they are right now. Thanks!
Why would you edit in dng instead of raw?
Mine had a lot of noise and the dark frame didn't really help. Is it my camera or am I doing something wrong?
@glansberry 10-22
@Sam Miller is free
@Lassie BRIAN use a wide angle lens
@dna2087 yes,but your sensor will heat up and that generates noise
@_dnimfoetats _ i think so
@Jono Studios can i see your results?
@HextechHD single dark image
@Yeezy P it will not corrupt you sd
@Ford Paradise yes,but the battery will drain much quicker and your sensor will get really hot
@Mahadi Hasan go to work!
Your over exposed dude.
